Awesome 7-11 Anodized Aluminum Shaft Covers Tutorial

Do they sell these straws in Canadian 7-11’s?

No they dont :frowning: Phoned about 15 stores and never heard of them

So would anyone be willing to ship out one of these things already cut? I’d like to do it myself, but I can’t find a cheap dremel and I don’t really wanna shell out the 50 bucks or so for this one time thing :stuck_out_tongue:

you could use a hacksaw as well. they dont cost that much. like 10 to 15 on amazon.

If enough people are interested, I can cut pre cut them so you guys don’t have to. I may do it anyway and just sell them in the trading outlet. Here’s a pic of some examples I cut. The pink is from the end with the “Slurpee” logo, red is the end with the copyright and disclaimer, and the blue I cut right from the middle of the straw. You don’t have to worry about the writing showing on the end pieces since that gets hidden at the bottom of the JLF shaft anyway.

Pile of noodles.

These Joysticks are not intended for children under 12.

This plus that equals those.

I will get rid of those excess stuff around rim before shipping.

Yeah I just found red today as well, I must have missed it while looking at them yesterday, it almost matches the pink.

Haha great idea jdm. Too bad it wouldn’t be completely visible when installed

Yes, that is sad part.
But the symbol can get covered, as long the sentence all show; it’s cool.

Or maybe I make another set.
Cut off the symbol end, and leave blank space after sentence for the covered part.

I was think of what to do with the Slurpee too.
Be cool to have the whole.

Maybe do Slurp.
Maybe do Pee.

I have an orange one from last year that does not have disclaimer.
That is cool.
Rare.

Just putting this out there,
I’m very willing to buy from anyone who’s selling these

Does it feel any different from the normal black plastic shaft you get from buying the average jlf? Like do motions feel any heavier or does it not affect it at all?

That’s what she said.

On topic though, how well do they match the sanwa pink?

Also, you should totally cut several into smaller pieces and stack them on top of each other for a multi-colored shaft!

hey jdm, what’s the tool you’re using in the pic, and how comparable is the price to a cheap dremel? (say 15 bucks max)
is it worth getting that instead or should I just pick up the cheap dremel?

I believe that is a tueb and piping cutter. Intended for plumbing originally, also useful for anything involving piping.

You put a metal tube into it, screw it tight, and spin the tool around the tube several times until the pipe just splits apart. clean up with a file or sand paper.

Ohh, free 2 day shipping! :bgrin: Might just have to purchase this.

who is cutting these and selling? I would buy some

Yup, that is the tool I used.
Same brand too.

I have the 3/4" one.
Which is 3/16"-15/16" (5mm-24mm).

Concerning the tube cutter - I don’t know if I fed too deep on each turn, but some of the tubes came out of round (turned elliptical due to the clamping force). The fit is really close with the JLF shaft, so I had to clean up the cut with a drill on the I.D.

None of my tubes became elliptical.

Anyone feel like showing me how the blue looks with a blue bubbletop? In theory it sounds hot…

I’m more interested in blue with a blue meshball. Should be getting a couple from Meus in a a couple of days, hope its a good match.
