In the second act of the movie, Fury said that the phrase 2 weapons went into development after the Destroyer in Thor wrecked that town in New Mexico and the WSC learning about Asgard. This worries me. It opens the door for a Thor sequel to be a loose adaption of the Siege storyline.
They have no purpose to invade Asgard though. But it would be dope if they organized that, Warriors Three fighting along Steve Rogers.
Though, I feel that Thor just gave Michael Jackson every reason to invade Asgard now, it has everything there. And save dormammu for another movie, even though it would be awesome to see him. I love how Whedon has left so much options into the future after this movie; Siege, Civil War, Michael Jackson’s Glove, and so much more. And I’m glad they actually made use of the comic book cinematic tie ins for once.
I’ve been thinking and I feel that Steve and Tony are the co-MVP’s of this movie. They are the ones who brought the team together, Steve organized the Avengers/Military/Police, kicked ass, AND saved the most people, and Tony hitched a ride into outer space. Without them, things would not have worked out so easily, in my opinion.
But the Avengers have always been influenced by them the most anyways.
Fury’s bosses are a bunch of idiots. These are the people who wanted Abomination on the Avengers instead of the Hulk and put Hulk solely at fault for the destruction of Harlem.
Wanting to nuke Manhattan knowing damn well that won’t close up the portal
They could misunderstand Loki’s actions as Asgard declaring war against Midgard. They stupid like that. There’s your Siege movie
That’s why I’ll never forgive Hollywood for casting psycho Nick to star as one of my favorite marvel characters EVER.
When I heard there was a new one being made and rumors of it being a remake, my hope got renewed a little, but when I learned that Cage was in this one too, I didn’t bother to entertain the idea of ever seeing the movie.
What’s with all this Micheal jackson talk?? Did I miss something??
First of all, Thor got pushed back. They’re pretty much admitting it doesn’t have the pull that Iron Man does, yet. So instead of being a Summer release next year, it got pushed back to November (besides, I wouldn’t wanna do Iron Man 3 one month, Thor 2 the next month, then a shit ton of waiting for Captain America 2). Apparently they want to flesh out the script and make a better movie as well. IM3 will be an independent movie (no Avengers or SHIELD), whereas Cap 2 will be very SHIELD intensive (they’ve already stated it will be about Captain America learning lots of people from his past are still alive, as well as him still heavily dealing and relying on SHIELD).
Thor could go either way. Either tie itself into the next Avengers movie (by having the Infinity Gauntlet stolen from Odin’s treasure room), or give us a full blown Thor adventure, with him repairing the bifrost bridge, and falling for Sif, and maybe fighting the Enchantress or Hela or somebody. Or another Loki story, seeing as Tom Middleton is so badass. The good part is, we’re past him trying to prove himself for the Hammer, so the movie can have a HELL of a lot more crazy action scenes. Most of the complaints about Thor were that once he left Asgard, the movie got meh. So that shouldn’t be an issue this time around. [/details]
Anywho, as for DC and Justice League America, I wonder how they would be able to start that movie. I’m thinking you would have to do it in either the next Superman movie (makes sense with Josh Whedon assisting them now), or the Batman reboot. You obviously would have to have the two of them meet. I really don’t see them able to do it the same as Avengers. Recruited one at a time. I think you NEED a Batman/Superman movie first, to lead into them getting Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, and Flash on their side.
sweet lord…marvel…come on. i know you wanna protect the iron man brand with every fiber of your being til spidey gets jump started but come on people. tony’s not even that important in marvel comics.
