Avengers movie thread

I COMPLETELY forgot about that move, and I could even remember titan charge, just not that one lol.

And when the jet gets shot down by enemies on its way there with what it’s carrying, what happens then?

Spoiler

They are the “council” they are too smart. It makes perfect sense to nuke the city where cosmic cube is still standing since it can’t be destroyed that easily.

That rotating arrowhead quiver technology in the movie looked dope as hell. This just made it seem even cooler. Still want to know how the grappling hook is technically supposed to work.

I can see why China would love Avatar, considering the industrialized regions are smoggy landfills with toxic runoffs everywhere. That’s the perfect movie to fantasize about when in such dire conditions.

[details=Spoiler]The jet could have launched the missile from miles away with no risk of being shot down just as it did when it fired on Manhattan.

Another thing I thought was weird was all the soldiers and equipment shutting down after the mother ship is destroyed. Were they cyborgs? Seems like a really bad tactical error to hook all your forces up to one power source, but I guess they thought so little of the humans that they didn’t think there was much of a threat of them taking it out.

Seriously, alien invaders need to do some research on human capabilities before they invade Earth.

Alien Villiany 101, they almost ALWAYS underestimate the human race until they get fucked up real bad.

Haha this movie will probably top TDK’s cash flow. Marvel owns DC again.

That would be impossible since Tony only really made use of the missile because he entered the portal. Either way the jet woudl have to get in close to Manhattan, and if it did and the invaders saw it, and decided to shoot it down, which wouldn’t be too hard, then GGs lol.

Hive-Mind, that’s how the invaders are even in the comics from my understanding. And I have a feeling they’re the weakest of bubbleman’s fleets since no one expected anything from humans, including Loki. Which is why Earth needs to prepare for Bubbleman’s second coming.

Too bad that is only the case for the Avengers. :frowning:
I’m still waiting for one good X-Men movie, just one pleaaase. Hyped for the new Spidey though, we will see how that ends up.

That was fucking enjoyable.

Well on top of Avengers, they had last decade’s huge Tobey Spider-man movies, a couple big hits like Iron Man and X-Men, and a bunch of mostly successful B-movies. Only hits DC had recently were Batman, and an underperforming Superman ‘reboot.’ As far as movie adaptations go, DC just can’t get their catalog off the ground for whatever reason.

[details=Spoiler]Not really. The technology that allows jets to destroy targets from great distances has been around for a long time. A lot of times pilots don’t even see the targets they are launching against, including other planes. So if they can shoot down a fast moving target in mid-air from a hundred miles away, I don’t think launching a nuke at a portal the size of Rhode Island would pose much of a problem.
However, I’ll concede to the fact that this is HOLLYWOOD logic and I’ll suspend disbelief just as I did in ID4 when they hacked into an advanced alien mainframe with a laptop…

I didn’t know Centauri were hive-mind… that’s certainly convenient[/details]

[details=Spoiler]The mothership coudl only be seen inside the portal, and only Tony saw it BECAUSE he entered the portal bro. The U.N had no idea about what was really going on ground zero. Hence why they decided to shoot the missile at Stark Tower, because that’s what was allowing the Chitauri to invade. Even if they fired it into the portal, there’s no sure fire way to make sure it hits its target, hence why Tony was the most suitable to redirect the missile. he was able to take and enter the portal and send in straight into the chitauri mothership.
As far as targeting goes, we don’t know what type of tech the ship has to avoid being hit by missiles either, so that still justifies what Tony did at the end.[/details]

Spoiler

again whose to say that the missile would actually destroy the cosmic cube. I dont think a plain ole nuke can do that

I’ve seen the movie now. I will say this for all you true believers…

Don’t leave until the end. You’ll see what I mean[/FuckaspoilerI’mBlabbin!]

Getting back from watching the movie and it was fantastic. Best action movie I’ve seen in a while. My highlights

[spoiler=]- Everything that involving the Hulk. The 1f command grab on Loki, sucker punch on Thor, Roaring to wake up Tony, and Mark Raffalo made an great banner.

  • Hawkeye hitting Gimlets on everyone without a scope.

  • Any time Loki and Thor were together.

  • Black Widow’s introductory scene

  • The scene where everyone was going hard at each other with insults. That was my personal fave.[/spoiler]

Well That’s a good point.

Until DKR comes out.

Hopefully DKR brings back the bat credit card.

Here’s whats gonna happen with DKR. It ain’t gonna open with 200 million opening weekend. Will it hit a billion? possibly. DKR is anticipated by most people but it doesn’t have that hype behind it like Avengers has.
