Eh katara wasnât exactly the most liked female character in the series anyway. That clip of itty bitty korra easily sets her up for the series. Been a long time since I have looked forward to a new show.
And yetâŚitâs now the only reason to watch Nick anymore.

im loving the facial expressionsâŚeveryone is so animated(no pun intended). dat new budget went to freakin good use. and the fight scenes are crazy fluid.

yeah seriously. the production values are GODLY. The camera pans, the animation, the voice acting, everything. Itâs movie quality.

I canât wait to see the new episode but I honestly have to wonder why this series rides kataraâs dick so much. She narrated the 1st showâs opening, is the only surviving member from the original show and the new lead is essentially a older version of her. Like I donât get this katara love affair especially since she was a annoying, overly emotional PMS case that came off worse then any of the shows bad guys ever did. I would preferred some distance away from her and the water tribe and maybe focus on someone from the earth kingdom or a female lead that didnât share so much in common with katara âŚhonestly I just canât stand the bitch lol.
I donât like Katara (at all, she was my least favorite character in the original. every other character had something cool/good about them EXCEPT her. even the villians had some redeeming quality), but Korra is a breath of fresh air. Aang was too soft and some of the side characters were more interesting than him. Itâs good to see how theyâll handle someone whoâs already a born prodigy in the physical side of bending and develop the character into something more.
Also yeah I guess thatâs why this took forever to come out. The production values and animation are through the damn roof lol. Not that I mind.
I agree, ang was the typical good guy meant to balance out zuko who in a lot of ways was the other lead next to him. I could understand why he was as vanilla as he was and overall I felt he was serviceable as the lead character. I worried about this new lead since I generally donât like female leads in action/adventures but Iâm glad to hear she is written well and thus far a engaging character.
its probably due to the high amount of female fans. they clearly outnumber male fans 3-1. even after toph showed upâŚkatara fans were still huge in numbers.

Tenzinâs wife was busting out with facial animation that made me wonder if Production I G was involved when she did angry takes.
Oh geez I didnât realize this show was so girl orientatedâŚbut that just makes me even more confused. How could so many girls like a girl who is bitchy, annoying and down right borderline unstable and emotionally erratic. I thought for sure toph would be popular with girls or even that warriror chick, yet the worst female/character in the entire series isâŚwtf!

Yea Katarra got really bad, especially in the final season. But upon re-watching a bunch of the season 1 and 2 episodes, she was a lot more level headed back then(like when they were stranded in the dessert and she was the only one actually doing anything). Plus she was the mother of the group, and its hard to make the voice of reason the cool voice.
She was still my least favorite character on that show, especially in the episode where she was tryna get her revenge(southern fire raiders or some shit like that) and the awakening where she was going all menstrual on her dad for no real reason. Toph and Iroh were prolly my two favorites from the old show and a part of me is still holding out hope that maybe toph is still alive in TloK(I mean, prior to about 2 months ago, we thought katarra was dead)
God, I cannot wait til April!!

Personality-wise, Katara and Korra are pretty different.
