I don’t understand why so many people who are ‘not’ fans of the show OR of M. Night are really wanting to see this movie, WHILE KNOWING that the general consensus is that it sucks. Is it the hype? Do they think the special effects are pretty-looking? ARGH

To be fair, the trailers make it seem worthwhile. Then again, Rotten Tomatoes (and even local newspaper reviews) are readily available, and while it’s one thing to let reviewers dictate what you watch, it’s another thing entirely to ignore when different reviewers point out the same qualities and flaws in a film.
Wrong and wrong, in that order. There’s nothing great about it, and the arguments against are far more complex than just “it isn’t 100% like the show.” <-- Not opinion.

I never watched cartoon, so I wasn’t expecting anything and had no idea about the plot or characters. It was an ok movie. Nothing good but nothing too bad. The acting was pretty poor throughout and there were some silly plot points.
I really wished that they would of incorporated werewolves from the future into this movie. More movies need to have werewolves from the future in them, it makes a great plot twist.
After reading so many, many bad reviews I decided to watch it… online of course im not paying to watch that shit. I couldnt bear to watch any more of it so i changed the page. How dare they disgrace the excellent cartoon like that its blasphemous!! Man im gonna go watch some of the toon to see if i can get rid of the scaring the film made on my senses:

My review of the “film.” It honestly couldn’t have more missed the point of Book One if it had tried.

its going to be one of those movies you watch to laugh at how bad it is. after watching that earthbending scene and the two vids in that guys uploads from the movie intro, i literally cringe at the acting.

I finished watching the cartoon, which was amazing. I won’t even let M. Night try to sully that experience by watching the movie.

wow. i didn’t think it was that bad, so i had to watch (again… dammit) to see what was around that 30 second mark.

wtf dialogue. “we got in a storm” “water of the ocean”. bitch is like “okay, that makes sense, moving on…” not to mention she doesn’t even check if he’s okay being frozen for an unknown amount of time, and in the part prior, aang is damn near dead and she’s hounding him with questions… how about you wait until he’s like… not dead… before you give him the spanish inquistition? in the entire beginning 15 minutes, all dialogue is is geared towards moving the story along, so much that some kid gets lost at sea, frozen to near death, and katara acts like that is the most reasonable answer. aang further explains, and thanks katara for rescuing him.
