Uh, no… Why do you always ask the off-the-wall questions?
Mai hates pretty much everything but Zuko still and Katara still dislikes Zuko. Maybe having rescued you know who will put him in her good graces, but she’s not going to be all over him especially after Aang finally made his move and they both seem to mutually like each other.
I’m glad it’s finally “resolved”.
Anyway, I got around to watching (and then downloading for further watching) both parts of “The Boiling Rock” and I have to say that it was quite good, especially since it showcased Sokka being effective while still acting like Sokka for the most part.
Why Azula’s still my favorite character
[details=Spoiler]But damn if that episode didn’t make me like Azula even more between the Iron Man Boosters and “NO! YOU SHOULD HAVE FEARED ME MORE!” insanity.
Goddamn Azula.
Goddamn.
P.S. It was also cool to finally see Suki get to beast again. She’s absurdly agile.[/details]
Was it just me or did the animation just look especially fluid this time around? I mean moreso than the previous eps in a while? It’s just that a LOT of fluidity, character design and composition kinda looked a bit more detailed and a lot less cartoony. I swear when I saw the cooler scene the level of detail almost made me think that I was watching some sort of direct to DVD tie-in animation with some major franchise.
However alright story arc. I mean yes, pretty cool to draw parallels with Zuko and Sokka, but IMHO this ep kind of felt like more filler and less killer. Especially the second half which would have been great but felt so…bleh.

Spoiler
I think the ridiculous Azula Iron Man Moment and just everything after that kind of fell apart. Usually avatar get’s a nice emotional response from me, the sweet moments are sweet, the weepy moments are weepy. But the reunion between Sokka, Katara and their dad just seems so empty and useless considering that they only lost them 4 eps ago. Not to mention the idea of them rebuilding and regrouping so fast after Operation: Fire Nation Raped Our Asses just seems so convinient and easy for them.
Well, it’s possible that the Kitara/Zuko hook up is one of those misunderstood things like she hugs him cuz they’re both alright and then Aang comes up and sees it from a distance, and then sheds an emo tear.
I don’t think that’s going to happen. There’s just too much shit to happen and given that one more season is there, the only love shit that’s going to go on is Aang and Kitara figuring out their own feelings rather than any petty little triangle going on. I mean it’d be pure bipolar to have Kitara to go from paranoid eyes on you to hidden weird feelings crush with Zuko. Not to mention that Zuko’s feelings with Mai have been pretty much strengthened with the recent eps. I mean with fucking Sokka getting mad game with 3 girls (with one being PART OF THE SPIRIT WORLD NOW) I fail to see any room or reason to have a Zutara development.
I was gonna say that maybe that would have been the thing that gives Aang the ability to go into that Avatar state, but I then realized that that had been cut off…
you have got to be kidding me… damnit! I have to cancel my cable and internet on Tuesday(or be charged for a full month), and won’t have anything available until I move back to California on the 23rd. this sucks…
yeah I know, but that won’t happen until after I get back to my parents place, and they have comcast. I hear they block torrents now(which really sucks).
