Avatar: The Legend of Korra - Book 4

lol You like Ann Veal?

Oh hell yes, Iā€™d fuck Ann Veal.

The premier was good, but it seemed like a loss in animation quality.

I agree Ann Veal (the one from Arrested Development right?) is underrated.

Crazy religious chicks are always fun, once you get past the religious parts and a little of the crazy.

The livejournal group is here.

You have to be a member or else it wont show up but membership is free. They have the whole 1st season as well behind the scenes that was posted here. I dont know when there adding the 2nd season but honestly I havent watched much of this show but the episodes I caught thought were good.

in ā€œThe Storm,ā€ Iroh diverted some lightning i recall

i think Firebenders can work with any form of raw energy, lightning included

excuse to have Mark Hamill use force lightning? you be the judge

Thanks. I knew it was something like that, and that it was Iroh, but not where. I think it is something special to be able to generate the lightning though. Iroh diverted it that first time, and then again in this episode. But even when he was pissed at that one guy at the end of last season, he just blasted with normal fireballs.

Aangā€™s gonna learn lightning bending too. Thatā€™ll be hot.

This is a good show.

The fight scenes get better as the show goes along: the fights in the last 3 eps of the 1st season are some of the best ever put to pencil. Katara beasting on Zuko = hilarious  (Note: yes, I am biased, as one of the styles they use for Tai Chi [water bending] is very similar to the one I learned).

Iā€™m very happy the 2nd season is undereway. Zula is a beast, and the first Zula/Aang fight is going to pwn life. Also, Iroh is top tier; Zuko spent most of this episode with stars in his eyes, but as soon as Zula appeared Iroh kept this skeptical ā€œBitch you lying Iā€™m going to have fuck up you and your peopleā€ look on his face. Shit was priceless.

For anyone that missed the episode.

I didnā€™t like waterbending until the end of the season-- just like in real life, Tai Chi is lame  Master v Katara fight was way cooler than Zuko, but the reasoning was stupid. But the Z v K fight makes me wonder when they would have to go at it to be equals.

And speaking of water bending-- Aang pissed me off there. Katara is much better than he is at it already, even though they were both there. Aang was just dicking around with snowmen and shit.

The tiers in the series are kinda ridiculous.

Yo Stabby, thanks man! I went out to see V for Vendetta Friday nite and forgot all about it until Saturday morning. I was searching for a torrent for hours and couldnā€™t find one. I really appreciate it.

Apparently in the Avatar world, lava is controlled by Fire Benders. In the new episode they showed the previous avatars doing their ā€œprimaryā€ bending, and the fire bender summoned lava from the volcanoes behind him.

I know itā€™s not solid proof, but still.

I really want Zuko to be as good as Iro. Him and Iro are my favorite characters, and the only major fights heā€™s won have been with Zhou.

Random question: Are you born with bending or do you learn it? I wanna say learned, but they never really mention it.

Some people are born with the ability, and some arenā€™t. Those who are need to be trained how to harness that power (see the first episode, where Katara obviously has inherent bending power but no training whatsoever, and compare her to her brother Sokka who has no bending abilities whatsoever).

Apparently the type of bending ability you have is based purely on race (or tribe or nationality or whatever you want to call it), as we have yet to see, say, anyone born in the Earth Kingdom who naturally water bends, or someone from the Fire Nation who can Air Bend, etc.

Ahā€¦ but that was a Fire avatar. But, meh. It probably is in the province of a firebender. 'cause really-- lightning? WTF.

Also-- that air-avatar shot was hella cool. It is lame, the more I think about it, but it is also hella cool.

For the innate bending stuff-- it seems more like Sokka is just garbage and never bothered to learn. Weā€™ve seen whole towns that could bend (or that might just be earthbending?) and it just seems like a skill that has to be harnessed and learned to be used.

And in the first episode, Katara had some training in bending-- she tried to teach Aang the forms that she had learned.

But cosign on the race thing. Probably has something to do with spirits and ghosts and stuff.

And np, Blend. Iā€™ll upload torrents I find for the episodes to that folder weekly, in addition to whatever someone else posts.

Zula has already proven herself to be an even bigger threat than her brother, Zuko. Aangā€™s gonna definitely have his hands full when he fights her!

When I think about the previous season, there is ONE thing that shocked me the mostā€¦ and that was Katara! I knew she was learning how to perfect her waterbending skills, but when she challenged the waterbending master of the Northern Water Tribe, my jaw hit the fucking floorā€¦

She was busting 10x the skills she had throughout the entire season and then some! Especially when she owned Zukoā€¦ TWICE!

Wait a minute, didnā€™t Zuko also best Ozai? But he didnā€™t have the heart to kill him, for which he recieved that lovely little burn on his eye for his generosity.

I donā€™t think so. What happened was Ozai let Zuko join him and his generals in the war room. When one of the general proposed a plan to attack the Earth Kingdom, sacrificing a lot of soldiers to do so, Zuko made an outburst about how the plan was cruel and that you shouldnā€™t just throw away the soldierā€™s lives. Ozai got pissed for Zuko dishonoring him, and challenged him to a fight. When they were in the arena, Zuko said he wouldnā€™t fight, and then Ozai burned him.

lol d/l the premierā€¦oh lord. someones been watching naruto too much.

the sister is a beast.

i think the kids wont get the symbolism by zuko and uncle cutting off their nobe(sp?)ā€¦the hairā€¦its like an honor thing right?

uncle is top tier. the man takes on elite guards like its childs playā€¦

oh and that captainā€¦heā€™s soo dead.

Just caught the repeat on Nickā€¦ Earthbenders are badass. Confused, but badass. And yes, the sister pimped Zuko without even use firebending.

Actually, I took the hair-cutting to be symbolic of Zuko and Iroh cutting their ties to the fire nation.

I thought it was a Royal Family thing, because all of the royal family members weā€™ve seen so far had pony tails.

this show is fucking badass, just downloaded the first ep of the new season today, gonna watch it tonight
