Avatar: The Legend of Korra - Book 4

More Avatar LoLs.

Wait a second… why did Aang die so, young?!

Spending 100 years in the iceberg while in the Avatar state.

The creators of the show said Aang did not have as long as a lifespan from his time in the iceberg in an interview. However, Avatar Kyoshi is shown young even though she supposedly died at 230 years old…

lol reverse captain america

Kyoshi probably just looked young because she wears a fuck ton of makeup. It’s probably a quarter inch thick. Dat Earthbenders’ Bare MineralsĀ®

Maybe they take the form of at the peak of their strength. Usually it’s when they’re older, but not necessarily the case. I don’t know. Throwing shit out there.

The last 5 minutes felt like utter fail too me. The resolutions came so quickly that nothing felt heartfelt of ā€œrealā€.

ā€œOSHI, the season’s almost over, better let Korra unlock her true potential… now! ok better let Aang show up and cure her… NOW!.. Oh she’s better, now she can love again WOOHOO!!!..?ā€

Man truth be told, Asami got fucked over really hard. I actually care about her life than other character in the last 2 eps.

Don’t worry, Ms. Independent gonna take over the family business so she don’t need no man. :lovin:

Mako: ā€œSo uh, can we get back together? Korra’s great and all but she don’t got no papuh. I love you btw.ā€

Asami: You Serious?.mov

Asami is hot, rich and has daddy issues like a mother f**ker…SIGN ME UP!!!

More like Bolin will tell her jokes and cheer her up and she rebounds with him.

Jesus christ, am I really discussing this shit? :bluu:

Hahaha for real. I’m usually not into relationship dynamics, but the way Mako just wronged Asami and practically got away with it in the end even caught my attention.

Well it was ā€œMEANT TO BE!ā€ all amoral behavior can be excused if the love was ā€œMEANT TO BE!ā€

And lol @ people ā€œdyingā€ in Avatar. Unless I saw their cells, molecules, and atoms disintegrating onscreen you can never rule out death in a show where every pilot survives flames and flying hot shrapnel unscathed via parachute in a war. Convenient jumps to safety FTW!

(I’ll write that huge ass post some time this weekend since I now have confirmation that I will be doing nothing. Sigh.)

Yeah, you’re hardly the only person to think that Asami got screwed over pretty hard, white shadow. It’s…irksome. I don’t really care if she gets with Bolin, though I can see that happening. (Even if it might have to be done entirely inorganically, unfortunately.) Since I don’t really care about ā€œshippingā€ (despite having a ton of [fan fiction] ideas), I just want her to kinda chew Mako outand address it so that they can move on in Season 2. That’s it.

As for what Season 2 will be named, I’m probably think that the fake spoiler from a couple of weeks ago that someone posted were Amon was old Aang is correct: it will be called ā€œThe Spirit Worldā€. That or ā€œ(The Book of) Spirit(s)ā€ given there aren’t any elements left; I suppose they might use ā€œHeartā€ since that’s kinda analogous to ā€œSpiritā€ and it’s not like the creators don’t know about Captain Planet. They could just continue to call it ā€œAirā€ too, though, since it’s not like Korra’s Airbending training is anywhere near over.

As for what Season 2 will be about given how ā€œperfectlyā€ the ending was forced to be, well, I’m personally hoping that it deals with the fact that bender and anti-bender tension shouldn’t have just up and dissipated even if Amon turned out to be a ā€œfraudā€ at least in the sense that he himself had bending. I’d also like to see the Avatar ā€œdutiesā€ actually be elaborated upon and/or the Spirit World pop up more again given how bad Korra was/is at spirituality despite that being such a large part of her ā€œjobā€. It would also be nice to solve the Airbending ā€œissueā€ that I thought the time-skip would have fixed, but meh, not like I can’t write that myself if I really want to.

Wait. What?

Link to confirmation of this please.

Isn’t it great how ā€œtrue loveā€ gets used to sell anything to quite a lot of people?

Guess that means all of the old Gaang besides Katara are alive too then since we never saw them die on-screen. Hell, why stop there? Everyone from the old series is still alive, even Yue, General Zhao, Jet and Combustion Man despite the confirmation of their respective deaths. After all, they didn’t get Kamehaha’d on a cellular level, so obviously they must still be alive.

Obviously.

…Sigh. I don’t really see why everyone gets bloodthirsty when mooks are competent about saving their own lives, especially when General Iroh wasn’t trying to kill them per se, just destroy/disable the planes before they could do their bombing run on Bumi’s forces.

For all contact with the spirit world and all the power that Avatar has on top of Water at least being able to heal people, Avatar’s kinda gone out of the way to show that you can’t really bring anyone back without really special circumstances between Yue sacrificing herself to restore the freaking Moon and Katara having to use that ā€œspecial waterā€ just to revive Aang.

Amon’s probably dead, especially since this was supposed to be the series finale and they went out of their way to show that explosion. Not that he couldn’t be alive, but him living would literally add nothing to the story if he returned. Hell, it’d actively detract from it.

I disagree with that. Amon being alive can still mean something. He doesn’t seem like the type of person who’d just give up his equalist ideals, even if he’s a traitor to his movement. And I doubt the equalist would completely go away after that. Crippling blow, yes. But not the complete end.

(I don’t recall saying that Amon would give up his Equalist ideas. Unlike some of the people who have posted earlier, I actually think he genuinely believed in them.)

That said, him still having the same ideals doesn’t make him useful to them specifically because he’s a traitor. As powerful as he is and as even as vital as he is due to being able to ā€œpermanentlyā€ take away people’s bending, no one’s going to follow him now that they know they truth.

So there’s literally nothing left for him to do unless the Equalists as a whole roll-over on that betrayal, which seems like it would be really out of character for the organization and thus likely be even more damaging than if they just up and disappeared by season 2.

Tarrlok I can imagine dying, but non-fodder characters on shows like these are usually kept in perpetual limbo in order to deliberate their real death when writing new stories. Off screen deaths are perfect insurance plans if they run out of character stock.

I’m far from the type who needs death from every turn to engage me, otherwise I wouldn’t like One Piece.

Is it weird that I draw some similarities to Avatar and BlazBlue in terms of their setting? In Korra, it’s implied that benders have an automatic advantage over normal not because they can soley bend, but because of the opportunities that come with it. For example, benders in general can join the military or police force and to be more specific, Waterbenders can be healers, which implies they can be doctors and Firebenders have a spot for them in power plants assuming they can produce lightning. The situation is somewhat similar in BlazBlue, with the discovery of magic a socioeconomic gap between people capable of magic and people who aren’t grows and as a result, people who can use magic are generally more well off financially than those who can’t.

I would be more detailed and in-depth with this post but I’m too lazy.

Will we get to see who the Avatar was after Aang?

…Korra?
