Nice job all, congrats to the winners.
I didn’t expect to do well in this competition. Everyone who knows me, knows I generally do animations. Unfortunately, when it comes to animations around here, the prefered media appears to be the type of avatar that is a miniature cartoon that tells a funny story, mine mostly deal with situations, sometimes funny…some not.
Stills were never my forte.
This is why I was always reluctant to enter one of these battles in the past…in case you were wondering, quiche.

and now, since the entrees are revealed, i will comment on mine.
Pink Stalkers:
I think everyone knew this one was mine.
k the idea behind this one, was for it to be a porn DVD cover. simple as that. pink as in pussy pink, stalkers as in you see her looking in through the window stalkers. a play on Darkstalkers, Pinkstalkers. I recolored felicia in order to better match the text. the pink in the lettering goes with the polkadots on the bed sheets, and the blue text on the right goes with the polkadots aswell as the picture frame in the upperleft. if you’ve ever seen a porn DVD cover(and i know every one of your motherfuckers that are on the internet, has seen one), then you know that’s sort of the way they were presented.
Now, i know that quiche allowed everyone to revise their entrees before the due date, what i was going to do with this one was fix the bedroom color up a bit more. I just didn’t have the time to work on any of my entrees again past that sunday when i turned them in. doesn’t matter anyway, it’s a cool av anyway.
Morrigan’s Eyes:
k I don’t think many people knew this was mine, and was probably surprised. i guess cause i had kind of abandoned making avs/tags/splashes like this and got lazy, so new folks have not seen them.
anyway, here is the original photo i used:

it’s a fuckin picture of masuimi max. doesn’t look anything like morrigan, it was an image manip. image manipulation is what i do best in photoshop, i’m not very good at doing crazy cartoons like OC, i’m not very great at working with sprites, and my airbrushing skills are remedial(cause i don’t care it’s overdone). so I do image manip. when quiche gave the opportunity to revise things, i was going to fix up the background a bit, fix the slight glowing that happened to her hair as a result of recoloring, and animate the blood on her cheek too. couldn’t get around to doing that, maybe i will later. but who knows.
anyway though, quiche, there were too many judges, and judges shouldnt be able to enter. simple as that. i bet people would try and call conspiracy or being bias on me winning and me being a judge at the sametime, but before you do that. notice that i didn’t even vote for my own shit. so it doesn’t even have to go that route with me. so there’s something to improve your challenges on.

this was like an example of a good idea excuted poorly. what mite have saved this av would be a background of some sort and possibly some sharper images with better text. seein that the av maker is Taichi explanes why it wasnt done that way (no offence) but most of the av’s i’ve seen have looked just like that…blurry and jpeggy…advice, donst save your work as a jpeg, go for either gif or png, experiment a lil’ more with diffrent text. good work:tup:

this one is cute. i like the diffrent approach by using artwork instead of a sprite but i think this av wouldve been better animated than a still. if felicia was like blinking or something then it would stand out more, and whats with the text on the left hand side? i cant read any of it…good work:tup:

i was really impressed with this one. i like the diffrent pallet used for Jedah and the effects put into his hands. basicly, this av screams for attention and it most definetly got mines and my vote. the only part that i dont like about this av is the shadow behind Jedah… or is that even a shadow…good work:tup:

ay, for a second i thought DG made this one:xeye:, meh, @ Sun this was just a very good idea but i think you robbed yourself when you had eveything but lilliths hair b/w, but since you were mimmicing an idol from an age wear color photogaphy was not yet around you did it in this fashion. i still like this but the potted plants kill this idea the most. it makes lillith look like a midget. good work:tup:

this a av i would have made myself if i had PS but i would’ve used not just Victor but Jedah and Donovan’s female form…or thought more outside the box and used ryu, guile, and terry from svc since a darkstalker named demitri is the only one who can do that curse…bleh, i still like this concept but i think Tantin over did the glow effect at the base of the av and he could’ve centered the sprite better. good work:tup:

what the fuck is this…oh, i made that…:xeye:. anyway, when it comes to me making my on personal av’s i’m extremely limted to what i can do. fist off, i made this av with ms paint, 2ndly, i dont own a cpu, and 3dly, since my acces to a cpu and the internet is only possible at a public library, they have a lot of stupid restrictions so i was’nt able to save certain sprites that i truely wanted to ork with. i originally planed to use these
