hello, i have been the victim of an apparent hit and run and turn to this community for some assistance

the car was parked and must have been struck overnight, it left a huge left in the rear side and took of my driver side mirror. there was no note left behind.

we found what looks like a piece of the offender’s quarter panel. i am posting a photo in hopes that someone might recognize a model and make from this small piece alone. it looks to be from an old american sedan, from what i can see, something like a buick or cadillac or lincoln or some such. i have scoured the internet to no avail.

if you recognize it at all, please do inform me and i would much appreciate it. i am not sure yet of what i am going to do with this information but every detail should help. thank you kindly.

better luck on a car forum. although finding out the car isn’t going to help unless it’s not a common car.

there is no way that debris is from a '64 Buick Skylark convertible. That is definitely from a 1963 Pontiac Tempest.

Can you post a pic of the back of it?

EDIT: I’m gonna guess this is from a 1992 Cadillac Deville. Passenger side, right in front of the front passenger door.

Might be a delorean, I would get a geiger counter and check for uranium deposits.

If its a hit and run, can’t you just take it to the police station maybe they’ll be able to id the car type.
