I asked this in the QA thread but did not get a response. I am having trouble getting an auto-corrected DP to come out against Ken if he crosses me up with a LK. Is it even possible to do it if Ken times his crossup perfectly?
As long as it’s not a early jump in that’s meant to bait your DP, then yes you can always DP his jump ins. It’s just harder when they time it to be almost right above your head during your wake up. I play Ken and Ryu and go for the ambiguous jumping LK a lot. Most of the time when characters with a DP go for there DP, they’ll whiff it when I go for jumping LK.
Basically you have to do it at the very last second. You don’t even have to do the strange half circle motion to get the auto correct. A regular DP motion will work, as long as you wait till the last second whether your opponent crosses you up or not. Go to the training room and just set the dummy to do that so you can keep practicing it.
It’s not easy, I’ve practiced it a lot, but I can’t do it consistently during matches so I’ll just block a lot of wake up.
dping crossup lk is a pain in the ass! i dont think i’ve ever done it successfully…
You have to do the DP motion the same way you are facing [IE you are on the 1st player side you do the DP motion as if you are DPing a normal jump in facing the two player side] at the LAST moment. The character will be almost near the ground during the cross up for you to auto correct properly.
