So whats up with Lan’s Edge? I moved to Austin last week and I found some time to stop by Northcross this (Saturday) afternoon. They only seemed to have PCs/xboxes set up when I checked it out (it looked like some Halo tourney was going on). Do they just plug in a dreamcast or xbox MvC2 when theres no demand for Halo? Do they provide arcade sticks for you to play on?
Also, is it worth the long drive up to Lakeline? I walked along the strip and the cabinets at Le Fun were complete shit. Einstein’s had really good cabinets, but no Marvel.
usually we would do a tourney at Lan’s Edge but for last sat, we asked the thread that would anyone show…no one answer so we decided not to throw one and yea we do provide stick for u…it’s just that we need more people to attend to have a tourney…so WHO WANNA HAVE A TOURNEY NEXT SAT???
Austin MvC2 is slowly dying, no one wanna have anymore tourney or even play…LARRY COME BACK lol.
now that we got 2 new players in austin… Lets not let it die… i think the most decent marvel cabinet in austin is the right side of the one at Funwerks or the one at Austin park n pizza. Le fun… they fix it a lil but i brather just wait for the tourney to go on at Lan’s edge…

How much would a tourney cost? I’d like to stop by and play some casual matches sometime. I haven’t really played on arcade sticks that often; mostly it was just me and my dormmates messing around on the Dreamcast. If anyone wants to just get together at LE and play, I’d go for it. Maybe even Super Turbo, 3S, or CvS2 (ughh) if they’re using a Dreamcast.
If enough people petitioned Einstein’s, maybe they’d setup a bigscreen $0.25 Marvel cabinet with those nice sticks/buttons they have. They could remove that goofy ass boxing game that most people are too embaressed to play :lol:
I think we’ve pleaded and begged for a mvc2 cabinet at Einsteins. They used to have one like a while back but they took it out. Yeah unfortunately without an actually good cabinet Austin mvc2 is very limited. The Lan’s edge tournies are much, much better but if you want to practice you probably need to buy or make a stick. I have bought some of the stuff for one but am too lazy to try and build it at the moment. But sometimes I go to Le hole to get some games in. Mvc2 on bad sticks is better than no mvc2, well i think. I thought the cabinet at Austin Parks was ok, if you can get enough people to show up to play you, it might be ok for a week night. One side worked slightly better but the other side is playable, still much better than the el crapo you get at Le Fun. Weeklies have stopped? Why? Where is Brad, haven’t seen him posting anything in a while, maybe he’s busy with work or something.
I am dying here, I can’t find a single MVC2 machine in the great city of Taipei and I only managed to find 2 arcades so far and they’re both pretty far from where I live. Arcades here are horrible, I lose to random scrubs in 3S because my joystick refuses to let me jump towards him and this guy is fireball happy. 
Oh and everytime he finishes the game, he puts another credit in and just keeps playing again, what horrible etiquette.
Yeah if Austin goes down on MvC2 we’re gonna take it out on your account… hehe jk I think Eric is finally opening up to other teams, Like MINE hahaha not really . But the next regional lets hope we make top 5. And i’ll be playing as well i finally found a decent way to fight against good sents with my team, Since Tron is horrible against stomping Sents…
ok if enough people showing for this next Sat tourney then we will run one…entree fee is 5 bucks like usual but u get free casual from 1-about 2:30 or 3 then that is when the tourney start until 5pm. we havent got a chance to do a tourney in while so i wish everyone in austin would show up for this one…well if the turn out is 8 people or more we will run the tourney. me, qui, and tri is already 3 if minh decide to show that will be four people the 2 new guys if they decided to come that will make 6 and if Brad, Joaquin, Robert, and Sungjin or other people show up then it would be great for a turn out in Austin.
i need more variaty from other players instead of playing against qui’s MSP all the time…SHOW UP!!!
I am going back to Baylor for the fall semester, and I will now be able to go to Austin tournys more consistently again. So if there is going to be a tourny this weekend, I will probably be able to go it( and any other ones during the year since I will be close to Austin again). Anyway, I really need the practice b/c I hardly play when I am down home for summer b/c of the lack of comp. Hope to see you guys there.

. BTW, we all have to pay the Lan’s Edge hourly rate as well right? Membership card + 6 bulk hours = $30 for two saturdays worth of marvel :eek:.
nah no need to pay those bulk rate, i know the owner we got a special rate. 1-5pm just need to pay them 30. Not everyone has to pay 30 just need $3-$5 dollars from each person. And then Qui takes a lil bit to pay for his joystick and then winner takes all.

I should be able to make this one, but I will going back to school in SA. Kind of sucks, but I am not that far away and should make the tournies. Hey Brad we should see if Steve wants to get any games in. He sent me a pm the other day and well maybe we could try to get some games, but after this week I’ll be in SA.
I wish I could make it to the tourny that might be coming up, but I have no money and no job right now…but I have hell of alot of gas though…until I find a job I wont be able to play any games at all…but I do have alot of burned DC games to keep me entertained though…

Well lucky for me, my uncle has one of those cd burner things that you dont need a computer, it just burns or copys cds…if I can burn the thing like that I can easily get you a copy of kof2002.
I dont like le fun arcades though, it has been hard to breath in there for a week for some reason…and you know where I can find some CvS2 gameshark codes for Dreamcast? I cant find any…
