Brad, the only reason why you think BH beats mag is because austin has shitty sticks…and can only afford to play someone as easy as BH…the only person who tries to play magneto in austin is steven, and he does a damn good job putting up with those shitty sticks…so to go and say something like BH>mag means you have not consistantly fought high level magnetos (no offense to the austin guys)…if BH was an anti-mag, don’t you think he placing high in tournies around the nation…unfortunately, that’s not the case at all. the proof is in the pudding…but, if you really think bh is an anti-mag, i’d be more than willing to play you next time around.

SG has good sticks right? I put creecy in the losers at TS3 with bh. It wasn’t my cable, it was bh. We always seem to play in tourneys and I always do well against him. I by no means always win but I have won a few. I am in no way talkin shit about creecy, in fact I think he has the most consistant bad ass fuckin mag that the sw has to offer. That being said I will still feel confident with his mag team against my bh team. If I can get out of the first couple of frames I think I can zone for the rest of the game. I guess this will happen first round of the next tourney for sure now :bluu:.
I play steve on home sticks all the time so you shouldn’t go there. Steve nows what I am talkin about :D.
I have no problem playin you vinny next time around. In fact it will be the first time that has ever happened. I always seem to be on the other side of the bracket. I am cautiously optimistic against your team. If you are gonna beat me you are going to have to chase me down.

Lolz aparently u don’t know that austin has more than 2 magneto players. There are about 5 magneto players just as good as steven or better. Each mag player is different so u can’t say who is the best, but to say something like Steven is the only person is to not know austin as well as u think.
Also we started playing on 360’s and comp buttons just like SG maybe thier not as great, Thats a given but there have been no complaints yet. And yet alot of Mags still lose to Bh.
I’m not saying that its impossible for a mag to beat Bh cause yes it does happen. But the Majority of Mag users have a hard time gettin close to bh+capcom.

i see what you guys are trying to say, but you guys still haven’t answered my question…if BH is an anti-mag, why isn’t he placing top around the nation? i certainly don’t see it…if you can show me one tourny where BH has placed top, then i’ll give you the benefit of the doubt.
look felles, i’m not trying to start shit here, but it’s obvious that BH isn’t tops anymore, and even if you think he beats mag, it still doesn’t put him top. strider and spiral beat cable, but neither one of them is ranked top four…the game has evolved, and unfortunately, if you want any chance of placing top in any big tournies, you have to get with the program…as far i know, larry is the only one who has taken the initiative to learn any advance tactics…the only person who was able to compete at high levels with BH was Alex Valle.

I never said he was top 4. I said imo he was anti-mag. I think team watts is the best anti msp(either one) out there. But he has really bad match ups with the rest of the 4 and spiral so that pretty much says where I think he is. BH doesn’t place high around the nation because if you play him you get countered.
I think Texas should get with the program not just Austin. Out of state ppl come here and collect money at our tourneys on a regular basis. I am just talking Marvel here.
As far as being diverse Austin is getting better. Weeklies are free now and the sticks have been good. Hell I played on mine last week. But when regional time rolls around ppl get nervous and play what they are used to. Unfortunately for us bh is what we are used to.
Larry has no advanced tactics. Unless you count run, run, hail, random launcher, run more:p.

Vinny - Mag isn’t exactly King of Tournament Results either. If we’re gonna talk tournament results, teams focused on Storm or Sentinel or both win like 90% of tournaments. In tournament finals you rarely see Magneto. The only person who has ever won a national with Magneto is Justin (MWC2000 v. Valle), but that doesn’t count because it’s Justin, and even then, Cable did most of the work. Even the best Magnetos, like Duc for a while, Seattle people, others, switch over to Storm/Sent teams or Cable, or whatever when the chips are down. Mag is in the Big Four but he’s at the bottom of it.
Also BH is good if you ask me. Just because someone isn’t Sent/Storm/Cable/Mag doesn’t make them unplayable. He’s like Iceman - he’s good, but you never see him, because it’s easier to just Hailstorm a lot.
brother, you’re telling me…this wasn’t the argument to begin with, overall, storm/sent or cable/sent is dominate, but mag still puts up a fight…i was applying this strictly to BH and Mag, but yes, storm/sent cable/sent is dominate.
then why use him? i guess if they decide to keep using him, that’s fine, to each his own.

Heh, like I said, you never see him. You don’t see that much BH either. Don’t see much of anything besides two of the big four + good assist. Which is by the way my one-sentence strategy guide for MvC2. =)
BH isn’t any good at fighting if you ask me but he’s awesome at stalling. Like just jumping around doing demons and jabbing and not really doing anything but making the other person put way more effort into getting at him than the effort he puts forth to essentially do nothing. So maybe the other person gets frustrated after the tenth time they’ve run into jumping jab, and then they start foolishly running into stuff that matters like low short or roundhouse demons. At the very least maybe he has Cable or Sent come in with a lot of meter and an assist they like (assuming BH is still alive).
And Sent/Cap isn’t anti-Mag, it’s anti-everything.
Why am I talking about a game I don’t even play? Oh yeah, because I’m at work and it’s boring. Also to let Brad know that occasionally, when I think of beer, I think of him.
Why should mag beat bh? Because, you won’t win against a mag the just sits there. He will block everthing, and when bh tries to chip with super, mag will gaurd cancel and gaurd break infinite bh. The only problem with the approach is that, every mag player plays mag because they are sick of this sitting back shit and the only pleasure of playing is to rush down. Of course a 1v1 match up arguement is pointless because bh will hardly win against any character, but if lets say bh had commando and mag and had commando too. blocking bh is pretty easy, so maybe you’ll get a couple throws off. but if bh desides to throw and assist, he will be counter assist and the chip damage won’t amount to the damage. Well, bh will gain plenty of meter for his next char. yeah thats true if mag sits back, but a skilled one can just trip sj cancel and safely hurt commando. So, ok no assist can be called if mag is sitting back. so who win that match up? That’s the theory behind the mag vs bh.

Sungjin has a good Mag, very annoying if he decides to just do nothing and charges meter for Cable.
BH vs Mag really depends on if you have a good assist that can punish BH’s assist, since BH will be calling his AAA more so than Mag. MSP can’t really do it because Psylocke just doesn’t hurt enough so if you’re packing a CapCom of your own or Sent-A, Mag can definitely beat BH, just got to be patient and not be frustrated as to why BH is still alive after 30 seconds. Usually with Mag, you either kill off the first guy in less than 20 seconds or your Mag is dead or hurting badly as an assist. BH is perfectly find if he stays alive that long, he’s built up 4-5 meters for either Cable or Sent and once he’s out, he has one of the best assists in the game.

i play BH against every other character in the game except storm/sent/cap…i phear that team.
if yall want at regional we can do another Austin vs Houston stuffs. this time let try Austin BH Team vs Houston Mag Team…I know for sure there are atleast 4 good BH in Austin that would gives most Mag problems…but the only thing that we can do now is wait for regional…

Yes this is the most life we have seen in a very long time. It is good to be alive!!! Well I’ll probably be free since Sat is the 5th but you never know. I would love to go to SG sometime, since sadly I have never been. Also would anyone else be interested in having SSBM going on another tv at Lans Edge? Just idea if anyone plays it, we should get it going, since that game is too good.
