i been to the lancave friday things during nov a while ago… i was the only mvc2 fan along w/ lanzar there. No one liked marvel at that gathering…only saw halo, and ggx2/deception/n the new capcom evo game…i been thirsting for marvel for the last 3 months in austin now…its pretty sad. any one in here love marveL? i know justin and lanzar are…who else wana meet us there to play marvel

Since school is starting up again next week, what’s happening with the Austin scene? Are the console night things still gonna happen?
TGA Console nights are not going to happen anymore. There was more gaming going on without them. It’s still a shame that Einstein’s doesn’t have #Reload, MVC2, CVS2, or CFJ, but the people who play those games and want to keep the scene for them alive will just have to meet on their own arrangements now. We tried to keep the TGA thing going, but it was too expensive, too inconvenient to run, and NO ONE went after the second or third week (literally, 1 or 2 people would show up, and sometimes nobody for the first several hours).
TGA instead hopes to keep the scene going now by continuing to host BAD ASS tournaments that will make everyone want to stay competitive. The next 3CGI will be coming up in May, and as always, details can be found at http://www.txgaming.com and http://3cgi.txgaming.com as things pan out (an announcement will be made here, too, of course).

If you play CVS2, well, you’re S.O.L. No one here plays it anymore. For CFJ, there are a few of us that dick around with it, but Tekken 5 came out around the same time. The game to actually learn and take seriously became pretty obvious.
I really hope that the members of the respective communities can keep the Austin fighting game scene alive. Einstein’s will always be a hot spot for Tekken 5 and 3rd Strike, but to stay competitive in other games you will just have to do console get-togethers at people’s houses or at other venues (like the #Reload players have been doing for a while now). As many of you know, I’m moving to Japan very soon and staying there for about a year. When I come back, there had damn well better be some good competition! :badboy:
Hahah since console nights are not to be continued, I believe I won’t have to come to school fridays at all now. :party: None the less, if TGA is going to hold more tournies, then MAYBE they could run a little more often than us waiting all the way till MAY to play with all the different people all over. We’ll just have to wait and see.

So is there any possibility of setting up more regular tournaments prior to the 3CGI?
Or at least something to draw out more people to play so as to be better prepped for TS5? TGA has already set up stuff for CS and Halo 2 and the like… true those games actually draw a fairly large crowd… but it’s just a thought. And yeah, SF is still a recognizable name, maybe a buncha random scrubs might show up hoping to luck out? =P

I can’t make it today, people typically show up to Einstein’s at night to play 3S though. There are usually (good) people there from around 8 to midnight. Daytime 3S is only common when classes have already started, which isn’t for another 8 days.
Dallas sucks at 3s. But I actually might be there at 1-2 since I have to do some other stuff down there.
He just wants to play Haha, at least down here he’ll get better comp right? We’ll be there about 2+ now and maybe even we’ll try the evening. Hopefully, we’re not playing marvel >_<

TEN BUCK TUESDAYS at malibu castle are awesome, NO SCRUBS just the best players we have, you can get good quick playing ME, ROB, KREEPER, JODY, and NORI. JIMMY said he wanted to pick the game up as well.
Hey what’s up man. Yeah, I post on Ziabatsu as “starboy”. I really like T5, it’s def. a fun game, and I want to play it competitively like I do 3s. Thing is, T5 is my first 3d game, so I’m still getting used to it. But, I’m a VERY quick learner, and am naturally good at fighting games, so playing good people all the time will help me out quite a bit. Sometimes when I go to steins, and see the “good” people there and get beat down, It feels like a year and a half ago when I went to steins and Hsien and Mark were there beating everyone down. But yeah, I’ll be in S.A. officially Sat. I’ve already moved all my shit, I just still work here untill sat.

Nope. Josh assured me they were getting it, but he stopped mentioning it after they decided they were getting more Tekken 5. I’m pretty sure it’s not on their agenda anymore, unless I hear otherwise.
