I’m gonna be in Atlanta on that weekend and there happens to be a huge tourney! Sweet.
I’d enter if sf4 was on ps3 also. I don’t have a xbox stick, but I’ll get in some casuals for sure. I can’t rely on borrowing someones stick at the tourney. Tried that today at a tourney and it turned out badly.
Really? Sweet!! Well if I can make it I’ll be entering sf4. I can’t make any commitment though because I’m going to be in Atlanta visiting family that I haven’t seen in years so I might have some plans for that day already. If I don’t though I’m there for sure.
no sir, but there will be more 360’s than ps3’s. Waba has 2 ps3 and I know 3 more will be there (me, hayward, and pokchop) so that makes 5 ps3 stations and I think they have 5 360’s so I think we are good. I do need a ps2 with kof2k2um set up.
That good with me sir. We can use your tv for ggxxac tournament.
Those that are going to bring a set up need to be at waba between 10am-12noon. After that I will not be taking set up’s for entry. 12:01pm is too late to get that deal.
While button mapping isn’t as close to arcade as possible, would it be possible to consider that there will be a hefty amount of pad players at the tournament relying on those macros and re-evaluate the possibility of allowing them? It’s perfectly possible to ban odd macros like a focus button, taunt button, etc etc, and allow only the 3x punch/kick macros.
Just a suggestion. I play on stick, so it doesn’t matter to me, but I know pad players need those 3x punch/kick macros. Totally up to the tournament directors though on deciding if they want to change a rule that’s already in place. Just thought
Pre-register me please! I totally forgot

I can bring a 360 with SF4 if needed. Just let me know.
Well, this isn’t an arcade game. It’s on the console now and there’s a reason why this buttons were added to the DEFAULT SETTINGS. Being a pad player, myself, I find this rule to be extremely prejudice. I mean, who honestly is opposed to 3punch/kick buttons? If an individual wishes to play without them, fine. But when you prevent another JUST because you don’t like it isn’t fair. Seriously, I’ve tried to push all three buttons at the same time with the controller. It’s hella hard and extremely uncomfortable. If this rule stays as is, you can take me off the pre-registration list.
You just explained why there’s a standard, bro. For people who use sticks, nailing an Ultra is 3x harder if they need to hit all 3 instead of just 1 button. And, contrary to what you might think, SF4 was out in arcades long before it hit console, so it really IS an arcade game. No one’s implementing this rule to discriminate against pad players - it’s simply because the majority of players who frequent the tourney circuit are used to playing arcade boxes, therefore constituting the 6 button set-up, no macros. I can understand the agitation felt by pad players, but pad players also need to understand that this is the way most tournaments are set up.
That being said, I think that if both players agree to macros, they could be used on a match to match basis, BUT, I feel a lot of players will feel like that will just waste time.
