ATTN: Merkyl999x and Luis1luis1 (And others) [X-23 Video Guide Help]

The only way I could ever manage it is with that wierd dash input leniency and that shit will give you carpal tunnel real fast.

just input one forward before the CS and the game will practically do it for you. Donā€™t use a button dash for it. I like this loop because it allows me to use skrull tenderizer for a relaunch since the HSD hasnā€™t gotten too high yet.
And if you hit the corner you get a 4th CS for high damage.

I just did CS -> TA, two button dash, CS -> TA. Itā€™s just tricky to land. =P

Merkyl, in your comments in the guide regarding c.H, you mention using it as a potential anti-air since her whole body becomes the hit box and her hurt box becomes absurdly small. Do you have any examples that this is most effective against?

Crapā€¦I had this typed up forever ago, just never noticed that it didnā€™t post properlyā€¦presses post comment again

c.M and c.H will blow up most tridash attempts when timed properly (spent the other night consistently getting my Magnetoā€™s tri-dash attempts beat out by Wandles with c.M), c.H can beat out X23ā€™s d.H if itā€™s not perfectly aimed which dH rarely is. Theyā€™re surprisingly good anti-airs in those kinds of situations.

Huh, Iā€™ll have to go in the lab and test those out. Cool beans, thanks a ton. =)

I never seen this thread before. So 3 months in and how close are you to finishing?

For me, the longest part of the guide is gonna be learning how to use Sony Vegas Pro in order to make the guide meet my theatrical standards and not just my informational/factual standards. In the meantime, Iā€™m more testing things out and trying to find as much tech as I can and trying to find the exact descriptions that most X-23 players can agree on (example, whether her s.L can be an effective anti-air or not). The part Iā€™m currently trying to work on is specific matchup experience, but thatā€™s been a slow process. Itā€™s been made even slower when dealing with work, school, making time for family, making time for friends, and all the other crazy mixups life has.

Okay, so mild update: Iā€™m at a bit of an oxymoronic point. Or conflicting. Or ironic. Whatever.

One hand: Iā€™m currently taking a break from X-23 to play around with and improve my Deadpool team, meaning I havenā€™t been practicing with or using X-23 that much. Coupled with my conflict between using a ā€œdouble dirt napā€ team or a ā€œtraditional mixup-reset-comboā€ team, and Iā€™m kind of at a clash as far as X-23 goes. As a result, Iā€™m not dropping her, but I am taking a mild break. I feel like playing a cohesive team (Deadpool/Dante/Strider) will teach me better about how to maneuver, use assists, etc. Just overall improve my gameplay in Marvel.

Other hand: Ironically enough, Iā€™m now feeling more prepared/willing/desiring to actually make this guide. Like, not just have the data, but start recording and whatnot. I havenā€™t really had a chance to spend much time learning Sony Vegas Pro, but since Iā€™ve decided to release the guide in separate videos as opposed to one large video, I donā€™t feel as intimidated by a ā€œhuge projectā€, and I feel like I can take each video step by step.

Sorry about the long wait, but the guide is definitely coming.

Has anyone had problems with (or know anyone that has had problems with) calling assists after knocking opponents down with Talon Strike? Sometimes the assist comes out before the animation of the Talon Strike is even done with (or it looks like that anyways), sometimes the assist comes out hella late, or sometimes it doesnā€™t come out at all. I know for 100% certainty that itā€™s not due to something like trying to call in an assist while inputting a motion (like while trying to do her QCF M to otg). I do not have problems calling in assists to extend combos with any other character in the game.

You can delay the assist > OTG way longer than youā€™d expect. With some assists it does require much tighter timing to OTG after a throw or dirt nap (some beams require you to buffer the assist call during the QCF motion, for example), but for the bulk of the assists, you have plenty of time to call the assist and then do the OTG.

So whatā€™s the current best resource for learning x-23?
Should I be watching player videos and what not?
So far Iā€™ve been reading the doc.

Until the video guide is done.
What are the optimized loops? Iā€™ve seen jump loops,mf :l: loops, mfc loops, :l: scythe loops. Iā€™d greatly appreciate it if someone gave me the optimized versions of each that arenā€™t really impractical.
Also what orders/assists would you recommend?
X-23, Doom (plasma/rocks in case it gives a better extension/mixup), Dante (jam)
X-23, Dante, (beam/rocks)
X-23_______, Strange, _________.
Finally any synergy you guys can tell me between X23 and Dante/Doom/Strange?
