Ah, what can I say about the tournament. Eli, you played very well that day but remember that it was an extremely narrow victory. It was very different from 4-0 win I had against you last time. Now that I look back on those matches, I made so many bad mistakes and didn’t capitalize on several openings. The matches also made me realize a certain thing about the way I play which I hadn’t considered before. So thanks. :karate:
As far as Evo Larry, I’ll have to wait and see but I might go. I’m not sure how Atlantic South will do against the rest of the country but I have a feeling that we are ‘good’ but not good enough to seriously challenge top players right now. It’s really hard to say if Eli has the best Ibuki in the U.S. since we haven’t even played outside the A.S that much. Historically speaking, Eddie Lee of NY had the best Ibuki in the U.S ever. I’m not trying to make the A.S. look bad or anything(which I am a part of) but top players are just on another level. I know this because I’ve played against top players in SF and it makes you realize your limitations. It’s not so evident when you play people near your skill. But there is a lot of potential for 3S in the South. I think Jay is getting better every time I see him at Athens and TN is also very good.
Overall, I really had fun at this tournament and I hope it happens again in the near future. This tournament has only made me want to play harder and smarter(3S research)…Eli, next time I will NOT let your Ibuki win again. I hope we play again and thanks for running the best 3S tourney in the south.
I know that jae, but I was in cali for a week and saw the top players in 3s and not just at evo2k4. I was there on vacation for the whole week of evo2k4. I don’t think we could be top 8 right now, but all i’m talking about is taking out some top players here or there. Maybe I believe in us more than anyone else. :xeye: I know we aren’t scrubs like most of the Capcom community think we are. When I went to evo everyone thought that the ATL South played nothing but MvC2. I’m not that good at 3S, but I beat a few top players in causal play and got props. I know you guy’s can not only compete against top players, but you can win if you don’t get caught up in (OH MY GOD I HAVE TO PLAY AGAINST insert top player name) I think we are improving, but we do need to attend other regions tournaments. That’s the only way we can truely earn respect in the capcom community. I think eli’s ibuki is different than eddie lee’s. Both are very good, but I would give the edge to eddie lee just because he is one of THE best in the USA period. :karate: But after that eli is right there with any ibuki player in the usa IMO.
P.S.–Me and you need to play some A3. :karate: I see it’s making a strong comeback around the nation. Kinda like how 3S started 2-3 years ago.
Yo atlanta…we need to roll together to Evo man. Memphis will be glad if athens and atlanta roll with us to Evo. We can represent the south. Oh yeah I am working on my ken better.
Yeah I would love to play some A3. I haven’t played that game in awhile. I’m probably a little out of practice and the reason is that it’s impossible to find an A3 machine(no one wants to play either). Columbia has one strangely enough but I don’t live there anymore to take advantage of it. It would be a dream come true for me if Alpha3 came back. Maybe we could have it played at the Athens tourney before Final Round?
