I’m still hyped for this game. I want to see all the crazy shit in it and still support the effort that was put into the game…I just don’t think it’s worth $60 as a game. I actually don’t want this game to bomb because I can see the potential there it’s just that they made too much QTE stuff in it.
In all seriousness though someone at CC2 needs to give this story to Madhouse and just let them go crazy on it.
Edit:
I also got a chance to look at the art book and it’s pretty damn nice. I want it.
Edit 2:
Awww man…why did I watch that Asura vs. Yasha fight? Now I want to see more.
Well at the end of the day I enjoyed it thoroughly ROTFL.
I’m not too cheap to pay 60 dollars and I wont create some non-existant debate about how its not a real videogame. Dont like dont buy. Bitch more, troll less.
I dont even recall half of you in the Devil May Cry/Bayonetta/other beat em up game forums, but everyone’s a connoisseur supposedly. Quoting IGN reviews, when did they suddenly get their credibility back? ROTFL.
So this is definitely a movie, not a fucking game. Not spending 60 bucks to watch a movie. Saving that shit for IMAX Batman followed by Japanese food made by a old Japanese lady where my aunt works.
I started watching the playthrough against my better judgement and I’m halfway regretting it because I know I probably won’t end up buying this game now until it’s really cheap. Sorry CC2. The story and presentation for this game is fuckin top notch. Seven Deities are true assholes.
I wouldn’t take game website reviews into consideration; it’s better to hear from those that played the game or try it yourself.
Gonna pass by my usual shops for the next few days and see if I can find a used copy XP
IGN is absolutely on point about this though. I’d say they were even being a bit generous.
I’m so conflicted. I really don’t want this IP to die. I love the presentation, the style, and the story. They’re amazing. The gameplay doesn’t seem there (not even getting started on the amount). They have a bunch of ideas that I like, such as counters and whatnot, but the battle system needs more work and polish.
IF a sequel gets made, I hope that they invite some of the old DMC staff over to help with the battle system. It would be action game of forever if it kept the other things intact and fixed the battle system.
Go fuck yourself you white knighting mangina piece of shit.
Here’s something your punkass needs to understand. This, is a FORUM. A forum is a place where people can voice their opinion. Now, it sometimes happen that when people voice opinions, disagreements are gonna be had. However, people’s disagreements are just another part of the discussion. Some of us have been following this game since day one, probably well before your bitchass ever jumped onboard. We, understandably, have strong opinions about the game considering we’ve followed it throughout its development. In other words, Fuck. You.
As ignorant as IGN is, they have more credibility than you ever will.
This has been on my radar for ages. It looks like a lot of fun but all the quick time events/button mashing is kinda off-putting.
I’ll probably buy it when it’s cheap.
I don’t think the people who are clowning IGN right now (I don’t even read IGN for reviews myself anymore but if a review is right a review is right) even watched the video review. Hell I’d say the IGN review is even more encouraging by stressing how unique this game is than to just go “6 hours of interactive movie. BLEH” We will see a lot of people go that route when reviewing this game so it’s nice that a big website like IGN tries to look pass its faults.
I honestly wonder what would have happened if Capcom and CC2 broke away from the traditional $60 disc based release and actually released this game in episodes on PSN/XBLA/PC. Like maybe only $3-5 an episode and you’d get 30 mins of gameplay basically but there could be neat behind the scenes extras or alternate takes on certain fights (like what if Asura killed this guy that way instead of the proper story canon) or developer commentary as you played. I think that if the game were packaged and presented differently it could really turn some heads. Every month we’d get one or two new episodes and Capcom could totally milk the hype that would build up around the story. People would be talking to their friends about what’s going to happen on the next exciting episode of Asura’s wrath. The teasers for the next episode would be released online as trailers instead. And then after releasing all the episodes digitally there could be a complete disc release at lower price point, like $40-60: “The Complete Asura’s Wrath comes with: All 12 exciting episodes plus a bonus fan episode that includes a boss rush mode, 3D model gallery, new minigames, and much more. Also in this retail release are exclusive Avatar/PSN Home gear and soundtrack”
