Assist thread!

So, I’ve been messing around with a lot of assists, and their properties. I want a conversation dedicated to this madness, since some seem WAY TOO GOOD.

For instance, Double’s H Hornet Bomber is 2100 damage, nigh-invinicible, and completely shuts down any attempt at rush down.

Filia’s H Hairball is also extremely good for keeping pressure on.

Between these two assists, I strongly believe solo teams are DOOMED. Thoughts? Interesting finds? gogo!

Only person I had ever seen use a team of 3 always had Cerebella doing Cerrecopter assist. Shit was so annoying. It locks down, does good, damage, and (I think) does hard knockdown. It’s REALLY good for mixups both because of the lockdown and it takes up so much space it’s visually distracting.

It’s definitely her best one. Especially with felia on point. She’ll keep you in the corner forever. @_@

Hornet Bomber is the best assist in the game.

well, its to early to tell, but doubles h hornet bomber DOES seem to good… it has some glaring weaknesses like its crouchable at midrange and also can be superjumped over… but it controls so much IMPORTANT space, that it really is annoying as all hell.

its other weakness is that its unsafe as hell on block, but you get a character that can cover that easily like painwheel fully charged shots or peacock gun x3 and it starts to become a “wtf” move.

anywho like i said its to early but its good to speculate so that we can come up with counters, after all there are alot more moves in the game and some inocuous ones might be really good.

im really interested to see what other assists will prove to be good… peacocks little bugs all have the potential to be REALLY good.
im totally liking these cutomizable assists though.

Egret Charge is looking to be very good in the event that you’re running Double and therefore do not need Napalm Pillar. Parasoul gives no fucks about your keep away.

Most of the cast can crouch under Double’s H Hornet Bomber.

Multi-hit mids don’t trigger unblockable protection so if your assist is like Ms. Fortune’s 5MK, you can get a low/overhead mix up.

Has anyone been using the assist macros? I’ve found that I can do things with them that I can’t do using normal assists commands, even with plinking and piano inputs. For example, I can do a super with FP+Assist button or HK+Assist button, which makes the assist come out at the same time as the super flash. I tried it with Sniper Shot + Hornet Bomber assist and at certain ranges, Parasoul becomes relatively safe. I can recover before Double finishes attack and can stop a lot of attempts to punish her. It’s pretty interesting, especially if you’re into using sniper shot to punish things. Currently looking for an assist I can use to make Double’s psycho crusher safe, or possibly allow me to combo after it.

Always thought that skullgirls is perhaps more of a 8 button game.
I mean MvC2 was 4 buttons + 2 buttons assist -> 6
Skullgirls is 6 buttons + (weird press of lp + mk or mk + hp, I dont really get used to it lol), so perhaps I will make an exception and I will install 2 more buttons in my stick (I know it’s dick, but there is no way, lp + mk is awkward to press) :stuck_out_tongue: .

I’ve been using an eight button stick since I started playing fighting games. You can never go wrong with more buttons and if you don’t need them you can just ignore them. :stuck_out_tongue:
