What are Ibuki’s measurements? Hips, waist, and bust.
I have no idea why but I’m having issues consistently hitting her TCs. Mainly the air tc LK, MP and I think…TC4? LP, MP, LK, HK AND LP, MP, HP.
I mean, some matches I get them consistently but not as much as I’d like. I almost never get that air TC.
Any tips…? I know this shit is simple but again, I’m having issues getting them consistently when it seems like everyone else has it down.
It’d definitely, majorly improve my game if I could hit them consistently.
Wait, which TCs? I don’t remember any LK -> MP air TC. I know there is LK -> t.MK, LP -> t.HP, and HP -> t.MK. As far as timing goes, you’re generally fine as long as you don’t rush the inputs or input them after the hit has already finished. You want to input those buttons during the actual hit, not before or after. Oh also, as an FYI about the LP -> MP -> HP one, you can’t let the MP hit twice. Only the first hit is cancellable into HP. The second hit of the MP is cancellable into a cr.HK, which can then be cancelled into n.HK.
Here’s a list of ones I know work for sure.
In Air:
LP -> t.HP
LK -> t.MK
HP -> t.MK
On Ground (Close):
LP -> MP (1st Hit) -> HP
b.MP (1st Hit) -> HP
LP -> MP (2nd Hit) -> cr.HK -> n.HK
b.MP (2nd Hit) -> cr.HK -> n.HK
cr.HK -> n.HK
HP -> cr.HK -> n.HK
t.LK -> LK -> LK
LK -> MK -> HK
MK -> HK
On Ground (Far):
LP -> MP -> t.LK
MP -> t.LK
b.MK -> t.MK
cr.HK -> n.HK
What’s cool about this is you can also
Stand MP->LK
Skip the Jab completely.
Since sometimes I think, I’m going to walk up and Jab. They expect that & take care of it so well. Or I drop the ball 100 different ways like, too slow, not in range, wrong place for the hitbox (Sup, Chun?) of that otherwise Super pressure Jab.
Started this with Medium as I wont to do with many other characters anyway, then right into ->LK. It worked! More footsie tools outside of tried and true MK pressure. Then you await more information. Can back off, go in again, etc.
So Ibuki is a ninja right? How does she have time to go to school when she is so busy learning these ninja tactics? I honestly think that ninja classes should take priority over going to school on a regular basis.
…yeah
cr.HK -> n.HK
Far too. Make sure they’re standing!
Then SuperJump cancel out(your choice straight up, back, forward) and pressure/backoff.
The Launcher style close HK, you only use sJump Neutral to land more hits there. Same as if you do it by itself without Target combo, if you’ve done that before.
Play 3s, Beat Gill, see the ending.
Its a Special Ninja (after school) Club. Her hair has a special name.
Thanks for an answer. My Ibuki knowledge has leveled up. Social Rank Ibuki level 5 now.
…lol
My bad, I meant the air TC lk, mk
As far as LP, MP, HP, I know to not let it hit twice but I have trouble getting LP, MP to connect. I think it’s because I’m too far or something. It’s hard to explain, I’ll have to show you in game.
Werd, I totally forgot to rewrite that one under far as well. Yah, I like to super jump cancel out of the far version on a bunch of characters when they’re in the corner cuz it gives an easy crossup. I do it too often tho, so it’s probably going to hurt me a lot more in the long run than help me. I also didn’t even think to try skipping the jab, though I know I’ve done it numerous times by accident when I input a LP too fast. Makes sense you can start from the middle of the combo though, since you can do that wth all the other TCs.
That 4rd Strike thing actually makes it impossible to do the far version of cr.HK -> n.HK. It’s my only complaint about Ibuki in that game!
=(
Yah, you gotta be pretty close. I have a lot of trouble with it sometimes because I end up thinking I’m either too close or too far and then I’ll push the wrong button after MP. When I’m too close I’ll push t.LK, which doesn’t work. Then when I’m too far I push cr.HK, which also won’t work cuz she uses the wrong MP for that TC, hahaha.
Generally the LP/MP/HP TC isn’t really all that great. It’s a nice hitconfirm, but it rapes your damage. It’ll also whiff on short crouchers. You get the most damage from all your special moves out of a straight s.mk. I’m trying to really train myself to use that s.mk after a parry more often instead of messing up my successful parries with stupid stuff like cr.LK.
LP/MP/HP is still a habit from when I played SF4. When I do land it, I just go into EX spin kicks. I had no idea it messed with my damage, though. Definitely won’t be going for that anymore, unless it builds stun.
st.mk is great. st.mk, ex spin kicks is greater.
Thanks for all the information, btw.
MK into EX Tsumuji is godly. It’s Ibuki’s highest damage move, I’m pretty sure. If I remember right it does as much damage as her entire SA1 + a LP kunai. A regular super without kunai will do more, but it’s easier to parry. Also the LP/MP/HP TC doesn’t actually rape damage. I was exaggerating a bit, haha. It just lowers it a bit. It gives almost the exact same stun too. I remember that the LP/MP/HP target combo actually gives a damage increase on her dragon punch, so there’s always that. It’s still a super usable TC, haha. Just gotta watch for whiffs on short chars.
EDIT: Added those TCs I forgot to mention into that previous list. Thx AkumaXPantsXBacon!
Hmm…
Whenever I get my PS3 (and stick) back, I’ll have to test some stuff out in training mode for optimization for my playstyle and see what I like most.
Had no idea about the damage boost on her dp from LP/MP/HP.
I don’t think that guy will beat the game, play the game at all, and may not even watch it on youtube!
Wanted to talk about what she though was that special guy, right into knife to the neck, watch yourself Ibuki! Only once he’d seen it of course. Haha “Carrotids.” But Orange Ibuki is not even regular arcade colors.
Yeah I’m gonna say, moreso to only go for that Target combo after crossup if you can hit those first. Which is a big part of her SF4 vortex game right? Also, there’s more with the back MP 1 hit -> HP after the clHK launch, then more fun stuff after that, more than just the Trial standard one.
Edit: cool, always good to be thorough, “pants bacon” ?!
Man I just had to see Tebbo talking about his Remy pants, more 3s crotch talk, topic again back there recently.
I been playin 3A for a bit and really like Ibuki and Urien. I guess my question is, where do I start with Ibuki? I do ok playin casuals, but have yet to win a ranked match. What should I be working on and practicing?
Poke x works best after poke y.
Just substitute x and y for your pokes, usually picking any random one for x and then filling in y through the use of training mode or real life situation analysis.
ex.
walk to up opponent and press forward + HK. You hit your opponent and have now landed with only so much frame advantage. Which attack will my frame advantage allow me to do? Will it be jab? lk? mp? mk? maybe one of the crouching ones? Can they parry the attack I’ve chosen? Does it even reach? If it doesn’t reach can it be used as a counter poke? Can it counter poke anything or just certain things? Do these go into more combos?
So and so forth?
So, in like, the SF3 cannon is Ibuki a slut? Or did Ono add that in SF4?
