Arcades and tourneys use the naomi version, which runs at 1 speed. DC uses pretty much the same naomi engine so it runs at about the same speed. PS turbo1 is a little off, but the closest you are going to get.
The literal timing on complicated combos changes alot when you play on PS2. The rom, the IM NJI, and other staples of play require different timing when playing this version. So basically, if you really want to get good, either dont practice on ps2, or keep in mind you are going to have to refine your timing if you wanna play in a tournament setting, or with arcade locals.
As far as sent goes, if you dont like him, and wanna play marvel, I feel for you man. Youre gonna see alot of the robot, and if you want to get really good, you pretty much have to learn him so you know his options when hes got you in a tight spot. Its gonna be really hard to learn how to get around the stomp patterns + anti jump frying pan when you dont even understand his options.
Just an example off the top of my head would be avoiding the unblockable without even knowing how to preform it. Your alot better off trying to avoid dirty sent tricks if you know how to exploit them.
I think its because the agetecs are using the japanese hardware, and that is much more delicate then the happ stuff. I like the buttons though. They’re big, and it curves to fit your hand.
The agetecs are definitely luck of the draw. I’ve had the same stick for years. Used it on and off from 1999 (holy shit?) till now. Every few days for the past 2 years and I’ve only ever changed the buttons. Heard of people whose sticks went to shit in less than a year. Mine just keeps getting better.
you need 6 through 8 joystick inputs midscreen + button swipes before the first tempest shard actually hits you
so it looks like
hit left on the joystick+swipe your hand once over the buttons meaning that you hit all 6 in one pass. Count this as 1, and you need to do this 6-8 times. I like to do left right inputs seeing how thats been the most consistent way of me getting out of it.
in the corner, you need 10+ @ a faster speed then instantly hold back.
imo, you should always get out midscreen or @ least have a rediculously high percentage like 80-100%. In the corner, it’s obvious that its much harder to get out of but not impossible. Personally, I can get out of the corner 10% of the time if i’m on point with the mash but I hear people are getting closer to 50% in the corner these days. You just got to be conditioned to it.
I know you can counter sent 's RP with cyke’s GS. normally u can GS into optic blast super with the right timing, but is that an option on sent’s extended RP, or will cyke just hit the RP, knocking sent out of the optic blast super allowing him to block and possible counter, or will the whole combo still work? just unsure. thanks in advance
If you go under the rocket punch, and hit sents body with the gene splice, you are good. If you hit sents fist with gene splice you are either gonna trade hits, or if cyke is still invincible you are gonna hit him once and not be able to link the super.
iirc there are 4 levels of damage on DC and 5 on Ps2. Damage level 2 on dreamcast is arcade perfect default. Damage level 3 on ps2 is as close to arcade perfect default as you are gonna get.
Speed on Ps2 should be set on either free, or turbo 1, depending on whether or not you like to be slow. Turbo 2 is a good bit faster than the arcade. Turbo 1 is gonna be your best bet for close to arcade perfect.
