Ask popoblo something

i have no problems performing cc’s, but what to do before them, is what i have problems with…

garunteed setups:
-lk scissor in corner, activate, jab
-combo into mk scissor midscreen, activate, s.jab, rh.scissor kick
-j.mpx2, jump, activate, rhx3
-AA: activate, s.mp, lp+dp, mk scissor (i think)

random activations:
-roll activate (my fav)
-dash activate
-walk up activate
-empty jump, land, activate

Hey, I’ve a stupid question here that has been bugging me for quite long time. What is the speed of CVS2 in arcade machines? I find my PS2’s CVS2 default speed (3 stars) to be pretty slow compared to arcade versions and videos I’ve seen. I think it might be 4 stars but I can’t be too sure.

Thanks alot!

and faylar, i’ve seen about a handful of cvs2 arcade machines in my life, so i have no idea. ask somebody who actually plays arcade cvs2, cuz i’m all console.

i find myself experimenting with the stupidest shit nowadays. i really want to make a buff lower tier team that can still compete with everyone else. just playing the top tier only in cvs2 doesn’t make it nearly as enjoyable.

on a side note, K-geese is sweet.

3 stars is about on par with arcade cvs2. the arcade is slightly slower than ps2 3stars, but much faster than ps2 2stars.

whoops! Wrong thread!

I like K -Geese too :karate:

Why do you like K-Geese? Seems you and kcxj like him too. Now that makes three people that like K Geese. Just wondering why like him; I used to like him because I liked landing wakeup RS on people haha. Now I just wanna GC people and DR their ass.

idk, K-geese is fun, but it’s still K-GROOVE geese. i’ve really tried to limit myself to C/A/N teams lately so i a) don’t die to A-sak and b) don’t get into habits of just defending or parrying. i’d play him in casual every now and then, but that’s about it. he does have hella potential for whoever wants to put the work into him, but it’s a lot of execution specifics (ie raging storm on reaction to a jump in) and what not. but his guard crush ability, straight forward nature, RTSD style, good pokes, kick throw mixups, etc etc etc are all nice.

i’d rather play C-rolento or N-iori myself, but that’s just me.

If you don’t like K-Geese, you can always play N geese, He’s a good meter builder in N-groove. I play him on my main N-team of Geese, Chun, Sagat. I mean he may not have rage but you get other things like the ability to not be killed by chip customs (ie, sakura)

I know you use A Bison very well so lemme ask…can you do the CC on both sides? I’m just wondering if even good players have this problem. I can only do it on 1p side…2p side I’m not used to.

eh, N-geese is okay, but i like a lot of other characters in N-groove better.

yes, and if you can’t, you’re not using bison to his maximum efficiency. practice until you can.

Well I use the buffer motion for the right side and I’m trying to do the left side by doing the “original” method of inputting dps. Is that how you do it or do you even need to think about it?
