i don’t think i knew any black people growing up that were scared of dogs. there might be people in the scene that are, but i have no idea cuz it’s never come up in conversation. and i’ve lived in skyway, 2 minutes away from rainier beach, all my life.
I know a lot of black people who have dogs. Not sure where the perception came from that we hate them (maybe the civil rights movement?).
The pool thing is simple: poor neighborhoods with lots of black people don’t have swim programs, so a lot of black people don’t learn how. Those that have access to pools enjoy it about as much as anyone else.
Was mostly just asking the dog thing cause it’s one of those retarded stereotypes and I was going for a funny reply. I haev known a few black people that were afraid of dogs, but really not more than the general population is afraid of dogs.
As for the swimming, that makes a lot of sense.

hah… funny hearing that since I grew up skiing and swimming being a lifeguard for most of my high school years.
