Awesome. I hope a lot of other people find the Buk info as useful as I’m finding it. Going easy on the meaty attacks is a tip I never really incorporated into my game for example. Now that I think about it, I probably do Sagat meaty d.HP, d.MK a lot more often than I should. It’s definately not the option with the most damage potential at midscreen that’s for sure. I’m going to go straight into my mix-up game more often now, since I technically have huge frame advantage already after a knockdown anyway (whatever how many frames it takes for a guy to get up).
You know what I find wierd, is that when I watch Choi play all he does is the biggest gaurd string(that can usually double as a combo)every time he gets a knockdown.
Actually the times I’ve played him he always does some wacky mixup that I’ll get hit by mostly because I hadn’t seen it before. It’s like running through an encyclopedia of ghetto tricks but for the most part leave him safe.
EDIT: Thanks for the advice Buk. That actually works pretty well.
maj guessed correctly: the 7~22 represents the portion of the move where the move is considered airborne
its lv2 genocide, cancel the uppercut portion into a whiffed tigerknee (i dunno which strength), then juggle close fierce xx tigerknee. the strength of the second tigerknee determines which side you end up on.
and yea, the mix up totally isnt worth it to go for since cancelling the genocide so early kills all the damage
Why do all the good players smoke?

I know there has to be some kind of conspiracy going on.
2 things, how do you fight:
- kims gay short roll and only 2 frames of recovery
- yamas j.mk/j.lk
Whats the command notation to do Chun’s st rh xx rh lightning kicks? I’m either not doing it fast enough or I’m flubbing the command. Is it
rh mk lk lk rh? (like as if it was rc’d, only without the lp)
or another way?
Run up rekka works on safe fall Rolento. It barely hits, but it DOES hit. All 3 hits connect.
Who do you think is the best CvS2 player in the world currently?
sawada…
i figured this out yesterday, you use 2 mk ones if you want it to crossup, and switch in a lk one if you dont. but its very timing dependent. i found that if you make the 2nd tiger crush the lk one (i think) , its a fake crossup-sagat will turn the other direction but the person will still land in front of you, kinda like the chun-li crossup with j.rhx2 after a super.
buk: what you know about percolatin on lolo’s?
like 99.9999999% of all people in japan smoke. like the only good players i know that dont smoke are daigo nuki bas and kindebu
with who? … and hasnt yamas jump ins already been discussed
yea thats how you do it. that’s mainly a showtime combo though, since you can only link the low strong afterwards (2 frame link) on super fat characters. standing strong reaches most everybody, but its a 1 frame link and not reliable.
if you want a confirmable move combo that has to be high-parried, so close strong (1 hit) into legs instead. it’s way easier (gives you a lot more time to input the legs), and the low strong reaches on every character after. good damage too
oh, and yea you’re probably doing it too slow
<-------------
then after that its like a gigantic tie for 2nd among hella japanese guys
sorry, with sagat, cammy, blanka, bison, sak, shotos.
cammy i can cannon spike that fucking mk most of the time cause shes short.
I don’t play a whole lot of Kim players, but the one I do fight rolls very predictably. I just block the first attack, know he’s going to roll, and throw that shit. He tries to cross-up roll. Worst part is, he rolls so much that even once I throw him, he still tries the exact same thing.
Buk, I know I’m a semi good player. I’m only mid tier at best, however I have strong fundamentals. I lose to many things such as roll activate/super and wakeup super. I watched some Jap vids and I saw that whenever they knock their opponent down (when the opponent has meter) they go for a nice crossup, or they merely wait. I’ve picked this up a little so I don’t get hit by wake up supers. However roll supers/activations are a different story for me.
I have it in my mind set that no person who plays this game competitively would roll from mid screen for no reason. I then see it as a setup for roll super. However I still get hit by them all the time. My first inscentive is to throw, next to that would be to do a meaty. However, I’m still getting hit by them to much.
Do you get hit by roll/wake up super at all? Is my question to broad or easy to handle?
Ugh… Justin Wong plays a really strong footsies game. In addition to that, he has perfect timing on all his throws, offensive counter hits, and defensive combos as well. If this punk is so hard to fight against, I can’t imagine how stupidly tough facing Buk, Choi, and the good Japanese players must be.
Some things I learned from fighting against his Buk X-Copy team are:
-When distanced properly, Iori can counter hit you from really far away with d.LK. This move beats a lot of things.
-Roll, d.HK can be used to punish fireballs when you’re too far away to punish with the usual roll, s.LP, d.LK combo. Iori can punish a Sagat fireball from almost full screen away.
Anyway, my main training buddy is moving away for the summer, I really suck, and I would some advice on what to practice in the meantime.
A matchup that has been giving me trouble in particular has been C-Ken versus any groove Cammy for example. I normally just play, but if I were to sit down in training mode for an hour, what would be the best way to make use of my time? I want to get my execution, timing, and general defense up to an expert level.
Matchup knowledge wise all I know is that RC Hadouken beats Cammy’s far s.HK, d.MP beats the drill, and d.MP can also beat Cammy’s far s.HK at times.
When Cammy is harrassing me with her frame advantages, what should I be looking for to change the momentum back to my favor? I’ve been using d.MK when Cammy comes at me, but the good Cammys have been waiting for my d.MK and punishing my whiff with far s.HK xx super. I also freeze up when Cammy throws her dive kicks or hooligan roll move at me.
edit: An example of what you personally would practice if character specific matchups was your focus for the day is what I’m asking. I’m in no rush either, so if the question is too vague or people asking to be spoonfed what to do is stupid, don’t worry about it. I made this post to complain about fat people mostly anyway.
Campbell…when are you coming back to CA, if ever?
sick av leeezay
EVEN SICKER AV, DENTTTTTRON
Leezy too, I’ll admit
