you need to mixup better, the reason why dudley is so good on wakeup is because he has strong options from high and low? they parry high, hit em with a c.rh juggle and they will think twice about parrying high again.
throws…once you’ve conditioned them to enough throws, high/low mixup for free. you can also mixup when you throw your attacks out.
throws do not discourage high parries nearly as much as a c.rh juggle. also most high parriers will high parry option select to throw, often leaving you with a tech, and not nearly as much damage as if you had just went low.
that c.rh juggle can be easily parried tho, or shoryu through,
and some guys are just plain stubborn when they get thrown,
well how about C.short-C.short xx SA3 instead of a sweep?
i know it does about 45 some damage, and i can get a sweep juggle to do about 65 some damage, but with a fake over a downed character i can catch them low most of the time with the shorts, is it better to risk the parry with the slow c.rh? should i use it ken style (hopefully not)?
obviously i know to mix it up, but what should i look to land more?
no one parries c.rh on reaction… its even faster than dudleys overhead. and everything you do on wakeup can be shoryued…thats why i said you need to mixup better. if you get high parried all the time its pretty obvious they arent dping.
alright epsilon i guess i gotta mix up better, thanks for the comments
Against parry happy people on wakeup, I like to tap down or intentionally whiff moves then pop them with the other level just to f them up. close to down opponent > whiff F+mk or s. rh, then pop them low. Or duck then quickly f + rh them.
Aren’t f+rh and cr. rh his meatys? meaning if you time it right you can stuff their supers from even being able to start?
man, that c. rh of Dudley’s is extremely deceiving. The animation altogether is what makes it seem so slow, along with his concerted grunt, but by the time you are humanly able to react to that noise(down parry) you would already be hit.
you can also meaty with c. short and UOH.
i like to whiff high hitting moves right as they’re getting up so it appears they’re gonna get hit then i immediately go low and vice versa. it’s very effective but you have to do it in moderation because there are the occasional uppercut/wake up super happy people.
other times you don’t even have to whiff a move. you can just tap down to make it appear like you’re gonna go low but then you actually don’t do anything. instead, you hit with say, twds + roundhouse.
something else you can try is to do c. roundhouse twice. if they get hit by the first, then by all means proceed to juggle. if they block the first, they’ll either go back to blocking high 'cuz they’re thinking that you’ll probably go high. another possibility is that your opponent will try to get to you. either way, they’ll get hit if they try stuff.

I saw at Evo, Kokujin pulled off the sweep aprox. 4 times… How do you pull this off?
It can only be done on certain chars: chun makoto dudley q (theoretically, i can only do it twice on him though) Oro? not sure about oro but hell try the search or read the first pages in this thread.
for those of you who are either lazy or a little slow, here are the sweepables:
-
all the chicks
-
Q
-
Alex
-
Remy - i woulda put “him” in with the chicks, but whatever.
-
Oro
-
Necro
-
Dudley

I think Dudleys C.Fwd is considered his “sweep” vs his C.Rdh
Nope you’re wrong
Really… Ok…
C.Fwd resembles a “sweep” more then his C.Rdh
You guys have probably seen this thread I have made already, but would anyone be willing to critique my Dudley and tell me what to do to improve my game? I have some match vids of me playing Izu who won SBO1 in casuals here:
can anyone tell me how to do f.mkXXmkducking
just as easy as you said it. f.mk, then quickly do the ducking.
Is there some trick to doing cr.mp xx mk duck xx super. Every time I try it I can only 11 hits out of my rocket uppercut (meaning it did not link). Occasionally I get 12 but it’s supposed to be an easy hit confirm, and I find it anything but. I can do St.Mp xx mk duck xx super easily as well as Rh xx mk duck xx super, but crouching I can’t get. Are you guys doing the duck motion and then pressing mp at down before completing the rest of the HCF motion for the duck and canceliing or something? What’s the trick?
i just do it really fast .
thing with it is you have to cancel into super earlier than you would coming off of a s. roundhouse because the hit stun doesn’t last as long.
