Ask Kim1234 about random Bison sh*t!

Whoa, that’s something i never heard of. Can you elaborate on it a bit more? And how useful it is or can be?

you can delay your quickstand up to 5f after touching the floor

Yeah I tested it and it only works if your opponent quick stands without any delay and preforms a reversal Ex.PC. If your opponent delays his quick stand, you will get hit by the Ex.PC and of course, it doesn’t counter any of Bison’s other wake up options.

You guys probably know this already but you can also OS a back jump off a safe jump in. I think you can punish Ex.PC/SK with this.

that OS teleport doesnt look all THAT great, you lose the ability to punish the ex psycho afterwards, i think that’s a big deal. iono, i havent given it much thought so maybe it puts you in a better position after bison’s ex dr, hs, or teleport, but from a quick glance i don’t really think so…

You can’t really punish EX-Psycho when you block it from that range anyway since it’s point blank. You have to pick your poison. Teleport and avoid chip, which is pretty crucial in keeping life lead in this mirror or try for OS throw against EX-Psycho’s throwable flames. Can’t cover all your bases.

OS teleport not that good against backdash
to play safe, I like backjump

Is there a list of which characters you can hit with cr lk. after a blocked LK scissors? I know it works on some people, but it whiffs on others.

Kim if a new player came up to you and said “I want to learn Dictator, whats the first area of Bison’s game I should focus on, whats the first thing I should learn?”

What would you prioritize, footsies, anti-air, combo’s, option selects etc?

Again others feel free to throw in there opinions.

I would like to hear this too^^

IMO - (given the player knows to basics of the SF4 engine) id say footsies and AA.
I think you can go a long way with Dictator, playing defence/footsies and harassing the other player with s. mk, s. rh and lk SK ect.
AA is tricky and needs to be worked into ur gameplan throuht good spacing and imo is very important if you wanna stay in control.

I think spacing and footsies are a must when starting out with Bison. Mechanics, meter management, mixups involving meaty cr.short, shenanigans (xup pc), etc. come next.

Kim, I was wondering your personal opinions on the Guy matchup. I feel as though I have tried everything to stop that blasted elbow but to no avail. Would you consider this a matchup where you want to rush him down rather than to turtle him out. Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

When will we see more dictator AE uploads?

You and me both have the same problem it seems.

You can actually crouch jab him out of the elbow…

kim what steps would you reccommend someone new to bison to take to become Gsplike? eg. what should my main focus

When you do scissor kicks , tap all the buttons in the same riddum as the hits. And bounce up and down when you do it too.

How do you stop bison from getting crossed up?

man i play mainly bison on XBL and i can’t seem to figure this thing out. even the most scrubbies people beat me sometimes when i pick bison because of this bull sh*t crossing up. its like i can’t do anything when somebody jump in.

like 9 out of 10 times i try to anti-air with roundhouse but it either trades or just gets beat. (esp. ken ryu and chun li)

can anyone help me?

my XBL ID is HADdaHUSTLA
THANX

Block…? I know it sounds like an asshole thing to say but sometimes blocking and teching is the best way to deal with pressure.

Block and tech <3 Also, sounds like you have to work on your movement and positioning. That is the most important thing for Bison, positioning. I’d also suggest not using st.HK as the only anti-air in certain (closer) ranges, you can mix it up with cr.HP and st.HP for example, depending on your opponent. Or even a FA or j.MP/neutral j.MK. Dashing under opponents as they jump is also viable, as Bisons forward dash is excellent.

Blocking is nice. You can also try warping out. Mix it up with warps because smart players can start punishing you for it if you over do it. Also neutral jump fierce works wonders if you know ryu is going to try to cross you up. Are you playing in lag? It’s harder to react to things online, but it’s even worse in super bad connections. It becomes almost impossible to react to or punish anything. It’s like that in any online fighter. It sounds like your fighting those super scrubby Shotos who like to jump in fierce to sweep all day. That shits annoying. It’s scary when there is input on your block and they get a knockdown. I’d say abuse your headstomp cuz 9 times out of 10 those kind of players don’t know how to block high. Hell, get a lead with that and hit the corner. Start jumping over their fireballs and be a lil bitch (they may rage quit on you tho lol.) Still it’s why I quit ranked, too many scrubs who aren’t worthy to fight my Bison, and I dislike abusing shit that won’t work offline just to save my pp/bp. It’s not worth getting into bad habits. You’re not alone though. I saw this legit 3000 pp 10k bp Ryu lose to this newbie Sagat in lag who just mashed and did lag shit, i saved replay too. Ryu player was pissed and left the team battle before it ended…
