Ask Kim1234 about random Bison sh*t!

If you can predict a fireball, OK, no buffer needed.
Try it against a player that will constantly confuse you. Human reaction slowed down (many variables given) + execution + 22f startup = problem

Chun’s U1 serves the same purpose and has a 7 frames start-up
Rufus’ U2: 11f
Ken’s U2: 7f
Seth’s U1: 10f
Balrog: 10~11f
Adon: 12f
DJ: 11f

Whether its charge or motion, all of the above characters can reliably punish FBs on reaction with their ultras.

MBison: 22 frames.

The difficulty with Bison landing his lies in its terrible start up, imo, not the motion. But that might be because I don’t believe losing charge was that much of a hindrance in the first place…

I barely punish fireballs with U2. Fireball characters aren’t that powerful now. It is kind of hard to do on reaction because by staying in place, the opponent knows you will not be jumping forward. its often a stalemate at this point.

I recommend people to play bison the same as they were doing before. And to use U2 off combing jump strongs and as a last resort random super when you need it. Now at least you have a random super that covers almost full screens distance.

Stalemate is not a bad thing if you’ve got life lead.

Against Dhalsim, you’re at huge advantage with life lead and U2 ready. Bison punishes Yoga Fire, Ultra 1 and instant overhead with U2. His limbs deal no chip damage. Dhalsim MUST come closer.

Also, his U2 gives Bison the option and strategy to focus every fireball if they’re far from each other. Projectiles will just boost his focus gauge. They’ll know it and come closer.

The whole purpose of having U2 is not punishing fireballs. It’s about strategy and how it makes the opponent not use projectiles, so the fight happens within Bison’s good area.

Bison’s U2 is slow because of its crossup/full screen capabilities.
Chun dash ultra and Seth’s fireball are both aroung 20f to catch full screen projectiles too

I need someone to concentrate all their energy and try and come up with an unblockable with bison . I think its going to be super lame to play bison if he has nothing new. i tried for a good hour. got nothing so far

It’s not unblockable, but it’s pretty cheap and looks like one:
After a successful knockdown/landing near the opponent (slide for example), it’s possible to perform a meaty Psycho Crusher in a way that it hits their faces, but it’s a crossup (crossup that doesn’t hit like one). Reversals will whiff (won’t autocorrect either) and it’s safe on block.

Thanks

Kriger you got a link to a video of that set up or can you explain it in more detail?

Considering other unblockable jump-in setups that have been found, I think most characters with decent crossups probably have unblockables against certain characters in very specific situations - they just haven’t been found.

If you’re good at setting up your crossup jump-ins, I wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve already hit someone with an unblockable a few times with Dictator but just don’t know it.

I don’t have any videos showing its applications and possibilities (such as whiffing reversals) and I just can’t record it
I send matches to my friend using replay channel. I can only upload match vids. Fortunately, I found one where I used it

You just have to calculate the distance and time so you hit with the EXACT intersection of hitboxes that make PC a crossup.

I’ve done that before, though unintentionally. It looks like the rear hit box catches them at the front, right before it would normally cross up. It’s tricky but worth it when you know they know how to block the cross up.

apparently, no one online knows how to block it. <=|

Isn’t the same thing possible after Ultra 2? Sometimes, I time an EX PC to activate like, on the first frame after Ultra 2 animation, and the EX seems to hit opponents that are blocking, even though you don’t see them get hit from the other side. Not sure about this though.

Thats true. I use this alot. I looks like a front end PC, but acts like and must be blocked as a crossup.

EX Psycho has the same offensive properties, but it can be reversaled. Bison has vulnerable legs during EX Psycho, but during regular PC, his legs only deal damage. He’s totally invulnerable below his waist.

Post-U2 PC is nice. I use regular PC after U2 most of times. It’s safe on block and deals nice 36 chip. (you could say SSF4AE U2 deals 486 damage total)
If you throw yourself in the corner during U2, it’s possible to cross them up with regular PC too, so no EX bar is used.
This is also a good reason to always land in the corner if U2 is going to hit. You get a free PC.

Yep, that’s exactly why Lariat beats EX-Psycho and some cross overs just hit Bison and reset him out of EX-Psycho.

I was referring to figuring out if its possible to make up unblockable jump cross ups.

i know akumas works only on ryu, ken, makoto, guile and ibuki

using ryu as a dummy, i havent figured out anything

i think j.hk would be a good start to start trying that kinda setup. Manytimes i hit someone and think im gonna land in front but seem to hit them in fornt but land behind them and finish my combo there. And it looks like you land right on there head with your thigh

I don’t think you can use the training dummy to find unblockable setups, at least, not with the dummy doing the blocking. Those setups are blockable at the last second ala cvs2 Just Defend (with a much tighter window), so the computer will block perfectly everytime on “All block”.

You have to record a setup, and then try blocking it yourself, for each character. o_O

what about cross up J Hp
