Why would you post up a thread like this?
To help further the scene/community by leveling people up, and create a connection with other players by offering knowledge.
Couldn’t have said it better, thanks.
I hope I didn’t give the wrong impression? I don’t really see where that question comes from, but it gives me the idea you don’t appreciate the thread, can you explain for me? I really don’t mean to offend anyone, so I’m sorry if I somehow did.
If you could make an Ease Of Use/Character Potential chart where Jin would be number one and tiers would be based on potential AND ease of use, what would it go like? Also… the manual dash scares me. It’s been so long since i’ve played SF or MK, and I’m so used to one button dashing that I’m like freaked out over the double tap 0_o Any tips?
Also… How is Jin supposed to be played? Like what makes him special? I was thinking of playing him, but then… In a game like Blazblue, you have so many intresting characters. Carl, Valkenhayn, Rachel, Arakune, Litchi… ETC. characters like Noel, Ragna, and JIn just seem so lackluster and boring
Makoto isn’t that hard to use right? I was def. gonna main her untill the dash incident And now I’m leaning towards Tager or a defensive character. Hm… Also, Mu vs Lambda. Who’s better, what are their gameplay differences, who’s easier to use? What do you think of Relius so far? Is Tao really that hard to play? What about Hazama? Is carl impossible to play on Pad?
In that tier list very little would change. Frustratingly, Noel Makoto and Jin are all top or very high tier and easy to use, which is why they are releasing a followup patch this fall.
Jin is very straightforward. He isn’t special, so much as “tried and true”. His footsies are extremely strong, he has good defensive options and strong pressure with low risk and high reward. Just very solid.
Makoto is very easy, her combo will take some practice but Makoto is easy to actually PLAY, you know?
For the dash, just make sure you’re:
- Buffering the dash so you actually input the second input on the frame you want to dash
- Using the advanced input by holding the second input down (This will input the second arrow three times, giving you extra potential to hit it on the very first frame possible)
And make sure you practice.
All the characters will be hard to play on pad, but Carl is not more difficult than others because you can use the trigger as his D button. I’d really recommend stick though :v
Wow guys, thanks for answering the question. To be true, I never knew you could spend 50 heat for a pushback, that is definitely going to expand my play.
I know about teching Tager (the hardway), and now I have an idea how to tech out of corner combos.
Also, is stick really that amazing? I mean, it is so hard for me to believe that using a different type of controller makes such a difference. I’ve read that it is mostly just for comfort but does it also add accuracy to commands? I’d like to think that a player with awesome execution on a pad would still be better than an almost as good player on a stick.
Comfort is big when you play for 10 hours at a major, and pads wear out quick and have less potential for true accuracy because of their design, stick really is better. You have to work harder on pad, why bother?
I heard that Relius didn’t have to hold down D and then negative Edge for Ignis, I heard it was like normal moves. I also heard that they can attack at the same time, so I’m assuming controling him will require fast fingers. The whole cancel D-command moves and attack real fast for simaltaneous attacks made me think of C.Viper’s feints in terms of how they’re executed.
So with boss Relius coming out, the only thing Carl will have on him is… shit when he doesn’t have them sandwhiched, and then when he has the opponent in position he’s still the unblockable reset king.
I’m REALLY looking forward to Relius.
I think it’s safe to say that Carl will have plenty up on Relius, including the ability to use his doll in meaningful way while in Neutral, because he can activate her at any moment - in whatever position she is in. Relius will have to “summon” first, and it seems like Ignis will just lurk in a fixed position until he does a move. This is much weaker from a pressure perspective than Carl, where you always have to keep track of Nirvana lest she stab you in the back.
They’re clearly very different characters, yeah. Relius seems to be a bit more like Eddy or even a Jojo’s Bizarre adventure character.
Relius is still looking pretty sick. If they gave him a command A+B dash I would buy this game
For the Guy that asked who was better out of Lambda or Mu.
Mu: Godlike AA, Awesome Oki game, highest damage output in the game (9K Fatal Counter Corner Combos) a DP, Good zoning game, Drive Traps and wicked pressure. Offset by a mediocre rushdown, poor mixup, low health and situations setups.
Lambda: Mu without the DP and insane damage. But instead she has better offense all round. I don’t play her, But if you like playing Passive aggressive with Zoning tools. Lambda is your girl…Robot…Clone.
what are some general tips you can give a tsubaki player vs bang specifically? how about in general?
Ah that would never work. A + B is used for barrier and counter assault. Just practice and learn how to dash normally. Most games are not scrubby to have dashing like that.
you clearly dont get the reference…
so that’s why am seeing a lot of good makotos everywhere >.>
anyway i really want your help her.
i putted sooo much effort on makoto lets say like 200 hours on her because i love her but still i have a hard time winning and i lose a lot of my matches and when i finally win i get this “faceroller” “cheap tier whore” “boring” “you suck but your character carried you to the win” “nothing creative just copy and paste”.
on the other hand my 30 hours valkenhayn wins all of his matches and lose only 1, and whenever i play with him or do anything ppl scream “u r amazing” “mad skillz” “i love you man” “that was fun”.
how come ppl love playing with my decent valk and call it a gg after every match and when i win or lose they are like wow you were amazing you deserved to win, and when i use my gdlk makoto and win it seems none of my wins are deserved and everyone wish i lose when i use her T_T.
long story short: what should i do?
should i play with the one who i MADLY LOVE but i keep losing with it and everyone hate and harass the hell out of me for using it? (makoto)
or should i play with the one who i don’t like but i win with him more and ppl love me for using him and when they see a mad confirm they clap and dont meh like makoto? (valkenhayn)
am pretty sure makoto will still be hated and ignored in BBCSE after the nerf.
You should play your character. The reality is, the crowd is fickle. I had literally thousands of people hating me for playing Bang in CS1, despite having played him in CT as well where I was complimented for using such a bad character. Now, in CS2, everyone jumps on my nuts just because Bang was nerfed, even if they don’t think I’m a good player or whatever. The crowd will ALWAYS cheer against top tier, and when your opponent plays a character they deem “worse”, even if the matchup is even or very slight disadvantage, they will cry foul and look for any excuse to not have accountability for their loss.
Basically, stick to your guns. People will chill out in CSE. Let me know if you want any help improving, alright? I played against Satoshi, probably among the 5 or so best Makoto’s in the world (Give or take), and learned a lot about high level Makoto play that weekend.
Should I even still bother with this game considering how much they change (even BnB’s…) every damn update?
Because other fighting gamesdon’t change?
There’s only ever been one update, so I think it’s a little hard to establish a trend.
Of course. You should support a game that is actively striving to be the most balanced and visually appealing, that’s just common sense. Granted, Blazblue is not a game you can play lazily, so if your training ethic is lacking you won’t be particularly successful.
Besides, they only update it roughly every year, and often the updates (even massive, game changing ones) are free. They have a great support for this game, and they try to be fair about prices. That’s more than I can really say for Marvel, anyway, and Street Fighter’s last patch made it even less balanced.
So far, every iteration of Blazblue has come closer and closer to a truly balanced game, and CS2 is already very balanced.
