They should totally legalize heroin and other drugs. If they want to keep the prison slave complex running they could always, you know, actually give real time to these filthy addicts instead of sticking them in country club rehab facilities. I support anything that ensures the culling of that mindless herd.
All the hard addicts I know got a whole other set of problems their addiction stems from. Without drugs those people would harm themselves in other ways, the addiction is just a symptom of a deeper rooted problem. Mostly poverty and/or abuse.
Now if you looks at countries that actually legalize or tolerate marijuana use as a recreational drug, statistics prove that the rate of users actually goes down instead of up.
I think it doesn’t go far enough though. Just legalize everything. Not only will less young bucks rebelling against their parents and testing their limits be compelled to try something illegal and fall into the addiction trap, current addicts will od less since the quality of government drugs should be consistent, and a lot of other shit like organized crime taking a big blow to their income would be actually helpful to the police and the communities they’re supposed to “protect”.
As long as the world people live in is garbage, people won’t stop trying to escape from it. Doesn’t matter if the means to do so are illegal or not, otherwise nobody would’ve been an alcoholic during the times of prohibition right?
Also I don’t know why people taking away the freedom of choosing to take a drug when you want to as something positive. I’m a grown fucking man, if I wanna smoke a crack pipe on a friend’s birthday, I wanna smoke a crack pipe.
I don’t need uncle government cracking down on me for that. I know the fucking risks, I just want to party hard now and then.
So you got less crime, the state earns more money and has to spend less on law enforcement and prisons and less people die from overdoses and you’re less restricted in your personal freedom.
Freedom sure does seem to sound horrible for a lot of people.
Fighting poor people is a lot easier than having to deal with the reasons why poor people don’t take drugs in moderation like responsible adults do.
Yeah we aren’t talking about your personal experiences Ramon. We are talking about the places they send real white people to, not puerto rican’s with delusions of grandeur. Maybe if your ass was cuban the next time you do a stretch in the drunk tank you can get an actual working toilet.
No but for realz I still laugh the fact that when I was on Singer Island they had apartments that were basically upscale halfway houses that were pretty much beachfront property.
I partly agree, we as a society need to address drug abuse as a serious Illness rather than a crime. Hard core substance abuse does stem from deeprooted issues and drugs are often an escape or coping mechanism.
… By real white people you mean affluent folks with money to spend on such facilities right?
Plenty of “real white people” can’t access such things.
I knew a dude i sell mushrooms to from time to time who was about to lose his job due to being a massive alcoholic. He went to a modest rehab facility for a month to keep his employment and ended up 30 grand in the hole with new monthly payments.
Incarceration isn’t a good way to deal with end of the line drug users, it perpetuates the problem if nothing else and a wide array of drugs are still available in prisons.
Decriminalization and treatment would go farther to hinder drug related crime and fatality than rounding up all the addicts and grouping them in worth those that commit violent type crimes on others. You also kill a monetary source for criminals.
Such measures also potentially create jobs as substance abuse counselors and the like will be needed to tend to the existing crises.
But drugs carry a social stigma and keep the prisons full of folks who could be rehabilitated and reintegrated into society so that obviously can’t work… Because reasons… $$
In most serious occupations, the more you know the less you want to speculate / comment on random shit. It’s usually the new guys that don’t know anything that are eager to spout their wisdom. OGs would want to stick with what they actually know and/or have useful answers on.
Cant help you very much with that one since work in a congested big city with a grid-like street structure that doesn’t contain many open roads.
I give out traffic tickets based on my observations.
Best cop duty for low stress that’s not boring. There aren’t many things I would consider in that category. Maybe teaching at the police academy or working in a non-enforcement unit/position that only involves strengthening relations with members of the community.
I was never in the military, or a cop but, i was a mall security guard for a year in a half. Holy shit. It made me come to the realization that we all have these unconscious, “mini goals” in life. Things that normally never cross our minds, until we’re in that situation.
Mine? One of my ‘mini goals’ is to associate with the human garbage of society as little as possible.
I could never be a cop. I could easily see myself getting anger issues before long. And i can’t promise that i wouldn’t get an itchy trigger finger myself.
Yeah since op is a fuck boi I thought I would share with you all someone that wasn’t afraid to deal with this delicate topic and had a very great response imo.
