He probably misses the AA timing or something…the dude is human, he fucks up too
fuckin damn it how am I supposed to play this game without bitching about my character?!
you given any thought to coming up here for canada cup? november 5-6. its an easy drive up here, my ex gf’s family was mormon and drove back and forth all the time… they said it is a super exciting and interesting voyage that passes in the blink of an eye hahahah
we’ve got laugh, infiltration, tokido, mago, ryan hart plus four other strong european players coming out. plus more japanese, top american guys too. the tourney organizers are holding onto some names for promotional purposes still. should be a good chance to level up. canadian tournaments are a lot different than american ones, much more laid back. and our hospitality should be famous by now hahah
I would go, but unfortunately I raped my wallet going to Japan. I’m done with international tourneys for a bit. Also, Utah to Calgary is NOT a fast drive, that shit is hella far. Next time man, for sure.
Utah is heading to SCR though
Also, Infiltration = best Ryu at the moment, hands down. His footsies/fundamentals are so solid, MM his Ryu when you get a chance, you’ll be impressed.
yeah yeah I was messin with ya. its what like 14 hours? through the Rockies for some of it too, that is not a drive you can do in one sitting. you’d need 2 good drivers at least and a roomy car. you could crash at my place to save the cash on hotel but flying or driving its never cheap to go 800 miles
i am planning on money matching the foreign guys, especially the ones who play chars that need good fundamentals to play against like shotos. its the best way of lvling up in our scene… that said tho even with our scene’s relatively shallow talent pool i keep mindscrewing myself into 3rd place finishes. i should be winning every tourney my brother doesn’t enter hah
Glad to hear you had a good time in Japan Strider.
Aren’t you especially mad when people say Yang “isn’t really that good”, now? People just don’t know, lol.
You’ve got 95% of people on SRK (and typically locally too) doing nothing but complaining about the game and their character when there’s so much they have to work on in their game, and then you go to Japan and see players that are just so far above the average American player AND they never complain about anything. I found it pretty inspiring, actually… I realized the general philosophy difference between Japanese and American players. Namely, the Japanese play and practice smart, and don’t give up (which is why they find such amazing technology).
I was really shocked by how good everyone was there. Like… random low BP people were often very good, and you run into names you’ve never heard of before that show you stuff no player in America knows about. Then you come home and have to argue on SRK about how so-and-so is actually a really good character, etc… and nobody except people who’ve been to/live in Japan believe you. lol
The main reason you lose is probably because you keep getting so frustrated at everything about the game (and everything about the person you’re playing against) instead of just accepting that’s how it is and trying to overcome it. You also don’t practice much any more, so it seems unreasonable to expect that you’d be in top form? I think if you put even half the effort into practicing and matchup knowledge that you do into complaining, you’d win a lot more.
imo i don’t practice much anymore because I’m pretty much out of things to practice. I slacked for a bit, played Daniel, got beat and figured “that should not have happened.” hit the lab again, brushed up on my links, learned safe jump setups, got a rematch and things went more the way they should have.
the only practicing left for me right now is keeping solid mentally. no offense to the rest of our scene but if I am playing in top shape the list of players who can hang with me is only about… two names long.
i just have to get over my self-defeating tendencies
upload em vids yo
Shit, actually, I didn’t get a chance to record much Nekojita like I planned
I recorded a couple other players, including some GDLK female players that would make most of our tournament players look free. Including some GDLK female Vega player from Club Sega in Shinjuku. She had a 17+ streak going on against Master-ranked players. Too good.
hahah i think ive played that female claw player i few times, shes high level alright.
so are you gonna share that nekojita technology? or keep it until you win the next major lol
though nekojita makes really, fuckin good reads…
I kinda want to make a video with the tech, or have someone help me make it, since I’m a lazy fucker and it will probably take me months before I have it out
pm me and i might be able to help
since im freeeeeeeeee
Yeah, you hella freeee j/k
Alright, I’ll PM you some setups so you can put in video…or better yet, I’ll record the setups, PM them to you, and you put them in a nice, pretty video format. Sounds good?
I wont be able to record this week though, since I got too much IRL shit to catch up on after being gone for 2 weeks :china:
lol i dont really have the equipment except for my digital camera, which is not bad really…
we’ll see whats up… i might need that technology to win my next ranbat lol
anyway take your time bro
If you provide the tech, I can record, direct feed in HD.
Good shit… Yeah, I can pm a couple of setups/tricks, I want to organize them first though and try to add some original shit as well. I’ll hit up the lab tonight and try to get those setups out ASAP.
Also got some character specific shit that might need its own video. I don’t want to reveal the whole bag of tricks right away though, gotta save some of that shit for majors :smokin:
OK HAV, just PM’d you the first setup. More will come
lol when I read that I instantly thought about Juicebox
