ASCII Optical stick vs Sanwa Flash?

They different. It also depends which way you have it mounted.

The “optical pcb” being the ASCII Optical PCB?
And the “both pcb’s” being the Sanwa FLASH 1?

They are different as masturfader said.
The Sanwa FLASH 1 is same as how would do a Sanwa JLF.

Here is my picture for the ASCII Optical.

Maybe you mean “both pcb’s” as in ASCII Dreamcast and ASCII PlayStation?
I do not know what you are saying.
But between those, they same.

Dreamcast has colors going Green, Brown, Gray, Yellow.
PlayStation has the colors going Green, Orange, Blue, Yellow.
The colors are different, but they are the same as diagrammed.

And like masturfader said, the orientation of PCB will determine which wire does what direction.

for the ascii,i mean which wire corresponds to which switch on the pcb. if all the wires are pointing upwards, just say up being north, east, south, west. wires from left to right, corresponds to N,E,S,W.

from left to right, green, orange, blue, yellow,

My picture shows it then.

He answered your question, and gave you a diagram…

“PlayStation has the colors going Green, Orange Blue, Yellow.”

Just a quick question about the orientation of the Ascii Optical, If I change the orientation to down where as the diagram is featured up, I would assume that the signals are opposite.

Green-Right
Brown-Down
Gray- Left
Yellow-Up

Saw some optical asciis on ebay recently, might have to pick one up…
