Artwork by FEDEX Kinkos HELP ME

I have some question bout them. I recently inquired about having some artwork printed into this adhesive vinyl material they have. They also offered me to cut the holes for me if I provided a template to show the dimensions and stuff in actual size. Where would I go about finding this? Do I just d/l the premade templates here on SRK? I just need the actual file to give them where I dont gotta resize it to fit the actual stick. If anyone has had any experience with them let me know. Thanks!

Oh and to those who has had their artwork made by them, how is the material in the long run? Does the art fade or get scratched easily?

i was wondering this same thing the other day  just never got around to making a thread for it

Haha yeah, I plan to just download various Hrap1 style templates online and have them print them out in some regular paper so I know which one I should use for the vinyl. But if SRK pulls through then that’d be great :]

Is the art for a hrap? If so, the templates are floating around somewhere.

I’m searching for ready to paint and print for the HRAP 2/3.

The paper must be A3, no?

if you have photoshop i think you can overlay the template on a picture you have then act accordingly. like this is how i have my pictures set up.

that way it already has the templates on it and i can just cut through and place everything. the first one is for my stick that im making and the second is for my boys stick that im making as well.

Well its for the US T5 stick which is probably the same as the HRAP 1 so yeah, are the templates found online the actual size when actually printed?

Xero15: Thanks for the info

i thought they would be but they are scaled to proportion. like i said i just blew mine up on photoshop. wanted to cut the holes into the wood first but i decided it would be easier to put it on there then let it try and then do so

In that case…here are the templates for the T5 stick. http://www.mediafire.com/?2nnr9lxsniy

Sup Xero the pic looks great have too get a bigger pic next time because 3 of the captains have there faces missing lol. But quick question put a the pic on a custom stick it works the same way if you put it on a tekken 5 stick right?

as long as soi fon is to be seen its all gravy lol

Just make sure to bring it to them in pdf format so the quality is consistent (and also so you don’t have to pay the file conversion fee).

Also, since it is being printed on vinyl, they have to process it as a color oversize order. That means you get to proof a sample before paying. Not happy with the print? Just have them do it again or bring in another file.

Do I put them all on seperate PDF files or can it be one with all of them in it? Also what method of data storage is allowed? Flash drive, SD Card etc.

i called up the kinkos around here the other day.
i asked for 1 color copy at 8x10 vinyl. they told me $25 and a 3 day wait.
i called alphagraphics and they printed me 2 color copies at 11x17 (not the size i need but the size i wanted was not a standard so they put the size i needed on larger stock). i had it printed on 100lb gloss text paper. came out very nice and $4.00+tax usd. the lady on the phone recommended pdf but i uploaded it through their site and i could’ve uploaded really any type of file (i choose psd since it’s what i had).

i guess vinyl is super expensive or kinkos is just ridiculous. just putting in my 2 cents

maybe i’ll call kinkos up again and ask about 100lb gloss and see if the price is any different.

Where is alpha graphics located? Also is there other known legit graphics stores like those around Socal 626 area? Or should I just hit up those ghetto looking signs/printing places around here?

Does Kinkos laminate too? I need some artwork printed up for a MAS mini stick and I don’t have the capabilities, nor do I think there is even room, for plexi or lexan.

^ I’m not sure if this applies to all Kinkos but the one I go to there have them. its about $5 to laminate a arcade stick size pic

Thought I’d bump this thread instead of creating a new one. I have a few questions.

  1. How could I make an exact size template in photoshop? I couldn’t figure out how to use the ruler tool properly and I wasn’t sure how to make 30mm exact holes. Any tips on how to do this? I might just wing it on paper but I’d prefer to do it in photoshop just in case I could get the holes cut for me when the artwork is printed.
  2. Has anyone had any experince with Staples Copy and Print Centers? I read that they have similar services to Kinko’s but I wasn’t sure if they could do vinyl or stickart. I’m asking because the nearest kinko’s is about an hour away and I live closer to staples.

I’m not sure if there is a “proper” way about it, but I just set the rulers to mm, then zoomed in on the top-left corner and drew all the circles with the circle tool on different layers, then moved those layers.

Ah, I finally figure out how to set it to mm. thanks.
and by circle tool I’m assuming you mean the brush tool?
I’m looking at a template for reference and the holes don’t seem to be exactly 30mm, should I be worried if the template isn’t exact?
