Art's Hobbies - DIY Acrylic Cases

Are you using google chrome? I just sent art to art and it went thru fine using IE.

@ ART - art, I sent you a fixed .rar after my original .rar because I had to fix something in the images but if you can read the instructions for both that would b great, sorry for the double upload, thanks alot man and heres hoping to being able to bang out some orders !

Was using firefox but it uploaded fine with IE

I got my case yesterday. I feel like I shold have assembled it with white glaves on to keep finder prints off of the inside. Regardless it looks great.

One semi-major con I ran into that I wasn’t expecting is that the edge of the top panel really digs into the underside of my wrists. I’m not sure I could use this stick comfortably for extended periods of time. I’ll try playing with it on a table top to see if there’s any difference.

Also with the Tek-Cases not beig on the site right now does someone have the part names/measurments for the screws and bold used to attache the wireloop, and PCB holders? I’m planning on running by Lowes after work and I can’t access youtube from here.

6/32 x 1.5" Button Head Screw.

Don’t suppose you meant 6/32 x 0.5" screws? The 1.5" screws I got are way too long. I figured there was an error when I picked up the pack but, since I didn’t know that the actual measurement needed was and I have a bolt cutter on my wire strippers, I decided to roll with it.

Edit: Seems .5" would still be too long. I’m not sure what I ended up trimming my screws down to to make them fit.

so can someone help me clear up some things

so i want to get some top panel plexis for my T5 and my HRAP2 (tired of the old metal panels) so do i need to order the JLF plexis? or not?

I kind of do, and I kind of don’t.

Yes, I meant to be .5 inch.
But even that is not the real length.

I’m measure right now.
And it is 0.484", or 12.30mm being.

No you do not.

I want pics >_>

show some pics please

I’ll see if I can get some pics up tomorrow.

Ah shoot. In my haste with some of the orders I apparently forgot to include a few of the PCB holder screws. Very sorry about that! If you rather not wait for me to ship the screws out by themselves, they are 6-32 x 3/8" screws. If you want me to ship them just give me your order number.

Again sorry about that, and to whomever else I may have left out those screws. I’m pretty sure everything else is there though.

Super crazy week. Put in another 24 hrs last night and just got like 6hrs sleep, lol. Alright, back to work.

I measured the wrong screw.
3/8" is right.
Laugh.

Art (or anyone else who might be able to answer),

Could you tell me the exact dimensions of your TE full plexi covers and bottoms? are they the same? I couldn’t find em on your site… Sorry if they’re listed somewhere.

Reason why I ask is that I’m in the planning stages of a new stick, and although I usually cut my own plexi, I’ve been itching for some etching as of late. I suppose I could always make my case slightly smaller and cut the plexi down to size, but I’d rather just build the case to fit.

Does anyone have the full pexi cover for their TE stick? I ordered it for mine, just wondering how the edge treats the wrists if it affects them at all…

Wrong thread??

But I don’t have any issues with it on my TE. Had more issues w/ the bezel.

I’m finally able to get some pictures up (internet went down late last night). I haven’t don anything too special with it yet. I put an HRAP3 SA PCB that I had laying around. Eventually I’ll wire it up with an MC Cthuluu, 360 PCB, and RJ-45, maybe. I’ll probably swap out the buttons too. It’ll be a while before I can drop the money on the parts. I am glad that I ordered early though.

I got mine today too! It is very well done Art!

Very easy to put together (even more so with the help of the UTube vid), and everything came wrapped up with what it should go with.
Took all of about 30mins (maybe?) to get it all together and that is the ā€œBā€ version With the Weight Slots.

I took some crappy Phone pics that I will try to upload in a bit, but it looks nice too!

So far, the case is sweet, and feels great.

No innards yet as I am going to go with the Paewang PCB from eTokki.

I WILL be getting another one soon…

Will post WorkLog of PCB Install…

A question for Art or anyone who knows: Is there any reason you couldn’t sandwich a full panel replacement plexi -> art -> standard plexi?

What I mean to say is, can you replace the metal panel with one of Art’s and still layer stuff on top of it?

I’m not sure if there’s a reason why you shouldn’t, but I can tell you right now that I have done what you’re describing (full panel replacement TE plexi + art + regular sized TE plexi) and didn’t notice any real problems. Buttons have some trouble staying in at first, but once you get everything in, it should be fine.

Also, sick Tek Case. I like the color scheme.

Arts’ stick has the same button layout but the shape and size dont seem the same. I wouldnt imagine it working to well…
Ill do some side by side shots later against a TE and TE-S.
