Anything you want; pictures, words.
Awesome, thanks a lot!
Art, got more questions for you. I see that there are no options on the site for adding the thin plexi layers or the side decors. Several questions related to these:
- how much do you expect these parts to cost?
- what are the space restrictions for hooking up side decors? For example, letās say I have a side panel with 3 30mm buttons. roughly how much space would be left on the side to attach something if I wanted to, compared to, for example, 3 24mm buttons? Is it possible to adjust the layout to make a bit more room on one side of the panel?
- is there going to be a no name plate option for the front panel?
- semi-related, how thin are the thin plexi layers? Will they affect the abiliity to use snap-in buttons?
- will thin plexi layers be available in multiple colors as well?
What is a Thin Plexi Layer?
The extra layer of plexi mentioned in the first post for sandwiching art inside.
Oh right, that.
So he really did call them Thin Plexi.
That is funny.
Laugh.
Ugh. I want one of these so bad lol. Does anyone have any suggestions for making space for the turbo area? Is plexi OK to dremel?
Wow the Case builder page pwns all, very nice method to choose designs. Great work!
Just wondering if theres a list or something coming with pics of the different plexi types.
Like the difference in tp green and fl green.
also nice to see mirrored purple and green, cant wait to see how that looks.
Yeah, Iād also like to see pictures of what exactly the different plexiglas types compare to each other. Iām not sure how āMirror Clearā is supposed to look like.
That Iām still calculating. It comes with two side panels with joints, inner panels and screws. Iām trying to calculate the pieces/costs and time to make them. Iāll do my best to keep them low. Please stay tunedā¦ lots to finalize this upcoming week.
- Still working on calculations to finalize costs and options.
- Each side decor will be different. I will post the side decorās dimensions when they are up. Details are still being worked on. 3 24mm holes will have about 2inches for side decors. There will not be enough room for 3 30mm buttons and side decors. What kind of adjustment are you suggesting?
- You can opt to leave the name plate text box blank for no name cutting. Obviously for those who want an opaque case, or a full mirror case, thereās not much use for the nameplate if itās not shown.
- The thinner plexi covers are all 1/16". The snap-in affects are variable. I will show the results in my video pertaining to artwork + 1/16" plexi additions.
- 1/16" plexi is only available in Clear, for the purpose of sandwiching art. If you want different colors, itās better to just get that whole panel in that color. 1/16" in various colors (outside of Transparent Red, Black and White) are incredibly expensive to manufacture and not practical. 1/8" are most common to have various colors
I wouldnāt suggest it because the dremel can melt the acrylic with itās high rotation and friction, producing a ton of heat in one area. Cutting a turbo area somewhere is not the issue, I can cut it out for you. But the problem is mounting it with the screws. Iām not going to cut and tap/thread the tiny screws. What can potentially happen is I cut the screw holes, and itāll be your job to find the right fitting screws to slip through and secure it on the other end with hex nuts.
This cut can be done on the left or right side panels. I donāt know if thereās enough space on the front panel because of the name palate, and thereās not enough room on the top panel because of the border. Anyway, itās doable, but youāll have to secure it yourself. And because this might be a one-off kinda thing, and if you want me to help you with it, it may take some time after the release before Iāll get a chance to make it. (Gotta take my turbo area off my TE, and measure the screw hole positioning).
I wasnāt considering these cases to replace TE/SE sticks so it hasnāt really come up for me to pay a lot of attention to it. But if thereās enough interest Iāll consider pushing the priority.
Thanks! There is a section on my website to compare the current plexi color selection I have. Iāll be adding more later as I get a chance to post them. Mirror Clear can be seen there along with a sample in one of the HRAP Plexi Replacement product pics.

The āUseful information Sectionā isā¦ well, useful =)
Thanks again for your Q and A JDM. Yeah, I think I need figure out a title for the āThin Plexiā side cover around thinga-ma-stuff.
Hey Art,
Thanks for the reply. I am 100% content with locating the screws/bolts to match the holes for the turbo myself. I recently had to do this in order to replace the ones on my te stick. I really appreciate that you are willing to make an exception and cut the turbo area out for me. Ideally, I would prefer it cut out on the left panel, which you said you prefer to do as well. My only question at this point is are we allowed to buy more pcb holders? It looks like you include 2. I believe I need 4 (IMP, mc Cthulhu, 360 PCB, and the button strip). Any info on this would be much appreciated! Thanks for all your great work Art!
Art, that case builder is amazing. Just one question: what about the options for art on the internal side supports (where the BBs go). I remember you had Noel in the stick you showed off at EVO to cover up the BBs. What option would that be if we wanted the same?
Seriously, amazing work with this. I canāt wait to get my hands on one and throw some LEDs in it.
edit, wrong thread
When will the āT5ā 8-button configuration be available? I did not notice it on the beta case builders; I prefer the Hori (T5 or HRAP 1) button layout.
Ex: Hori T5 layout
Also, is it possible for you to drill two small, 1/8" diameter, holes about 6/8" apart on
the top portion of right panel? I did this on my current stick, modded PS2 Hori T5 stick, to accommodate a custom headset adapter. Two 1/8" stereo in-line audio jacks are inside my case; this allows me to utilize any of-the-shelf headset.
Ex: InLine Audio Jacks
If you are unable to do so, I can use my rotary tool (Dremel) to complete that step.
hey gentsā¦ this will be my first stick any suggestions on a layout? i know the capcom sucks because of the way the buttons are in a straight line and way uncomfortable for the fingersā¦ im thinkin the sega player 1 layout?? any suggestions would be nice
Hard to say for a certain preference, you just have to try what you like. Whatever you do, remember:
6 button is cooler.
8 button is Dick.
If you like TE, get vewlix. Maybe if you still want the sort of straight style, try the last 6 vewlix. Itās not perfectly straight, and it may be more comfortable to you. Astro City 1P is cool if you like Hori sticks.
The best part of artās cases is that you can get multiple face plates. So you can try what you like without having to buy a whole new case/stick. Just swap 'em.
8 buttons = Fonzi
6 buttons = Eli Porter
:arazz:
Another option for figuring out layout - go to slagcoin.com - go to the layouts he has listed therre and print the ones you like out. Tryāem out on paper for at LEAST a minuteā¦thats the onyl way to make sure its actually comfortable is to put a little real time on it as opposed to one or two piano roles. And Good lcuk

thanks for the inputs narrage and unreallyā¦ i have been over to slagcoin and checked out the layouts. i think art is only offering a few for the first drop which is understandable. i was wondering for the layouts art is using which ones would be better im going to download em and seeā¦ thanks
6 buttons is cool.
8 buttons is 6 buttons with two extra buttons.
I want me a Plexiglas top with the te layout.
