Article about Independent game store getting burnt

The local game store in my town, which I’ll be working for too, got this with COD BO2.
Activision Rep told him to “know his place.”

Thoughts/opinions?

I hoping I can help the company grow and put my knowledge to the test.

it wasn’t a complete denial, they just denied them copies until the street date.

Because independant retailers are the reason games get released early. It’s much easier to punish an EB games (who does NOT break street date) or any of the big retailers.

I have no problem with this, it was brought on by independents greed and stupidity, and now they’re all paying for it.

less of a pain to punish everyone than the ones responsibly type of deal?
Denying until street date means no midnight release too.

I think its easier to catch the big box. W/ one mighty swing they cut off the supply to the independents
BB now lets people in their stores before 12 and lets them have their copies at 12.

Around the store, there are two gamestops, one is in a mall and one is on the outside of a strip mall. Then, there is a BB too.

My store got the basic copies, but not the limited collections. Nothing for mid-night for BO2

A company should work with those who have good ethics. Its detrimental to alienate a market like this. Even non-profitable markets have their use.
To me, even If I didn’t work or know this place, it would be two steps back.

Plus we do repairs and mods
