I just played the game, and its okay. I’d like to know what the tiers are, if they even exist. My favorite character to play is Rody.
Tiers on this game are very, very hard to come by…we can try to make one no??
If it was a tier list for the game who would you put in it???
Well, maybe Sinclair and Jin…You know, its been quite a while since I’ve played this game. :wonder:
I need more conclusive testing just to be sure, but this is what I have so far. This is in order btw.
Should be Banned
Wyler: Mega damaging comboes, the best juggle in the game, can’t be thrown… need I go on
Uber
Kasumi: Her attacks leave her close to the opponent, allowing her to juggle and combo easily after he overhead stun special. She also rapes Ryo and Robert for free due to her taunt and the slow wakeup time in this game. Poor low game
Top
Rody: His juggles and moves are excellent. His close range special does high damage and is hard to defend against. The baton toss is useless due to the poor recovery time.
Ryo: He plays a lot like Rody, except that Ryo is better on defense due to his counters. His comboes are more difficult than Rody and his special moves eat up a lot of his power gauge.
Mid
Robert: He’s a tall target, has a poor defensive game, but has a versatile offensive game. His problem is that a lot of his comboes won’t work on shorter characters like Wang or Kasumi, so he’s predictable at times.
Wang: Lots of sweeps and overheads allows him to set up opponents for comboes, some which don’t work on heavy chars like Jin and Wyler. He lacks a lot of comboes, but he can stun well and has powerful strikes.
Jin: His pathetic reach makes starting comboes a nightmare. His being heavy makes him immune to some chars’ juggles. High damage numbers and he has the best pursuit capabilities, so he can force a close battle whenever he wants.
Karman: His dashing punch moves slide under a lot of moves and is unpredictable due to 2 variations. He would be low tier if he didn’t have good damage numbers. He has some of the worst comboes and most of his normals hit the mid section.
Low
Lenny: She has the best throw in the game due to the reach and her normals are good keepaways. Her specials are all pretty much useless due to their generally short reach. She has good, long reaching juggles, but ironically is the most susceptible char to being juggled due to her lightweight.
Sinclair: Her comboes can be seen a mile away, she’s got slow attacks, and her specials leave something to be desired. She does a lot of damage and has good reach with her sword. Basically, she’s a poor man’s Wang because his comboes and overheads are not only quicker, but stronger.
Excellent now this is the shit I am talking about…something that at least we can all start on…
Didn’t we had an AOF3 topic already.^^
Well, pretty good list, but I would put Ryo at least above Rody and Kasumi on Ryo’s level. Ryo has a great throw game, which is needed in this game. He got a better groundhitter then most of the cast, which is done with qcb+A. Ryo also got good specials easy 50% juggels (even better ones, but they are really hard sometimes) with a very strong good range juggle starter (f, b+B+C). His d,u+A is also one of the best moves in the game, even trough it lacks range it is super fast beats out a lot and opens up for a juggle. Up close he is a beast, you really need to stay out of punching range most of the time against him and Kasumi would really be his only bad match up. At least it was back in the day when I played with my friends. A problem was always that to 95% Robert, Ryo and Kasumi were the only chars me and people in my area used.
Some Ryo juggels …
d,u+A, f+A,A,C,C
f,b+B+C, f+B,B, f+A,A,C,B
d,u+A/f,b+B+C, A, f+A,A,C,B, C
d,u+A/f,b+B+C, f+A,A,C,B, f+A,A,C,B, f+A,B
Heh, the game sure has some broken combos, IIRC Arcade-Extreme.com has an AoF 3 combo vid that’ll make u go somewhat WOAH!
Kasumi and Ryo seem to be really good for me. I loose randomly to Karman for some reason.
