I think they got the chemistry to where it wouldn’t come off as forced. Felicity seems like someone who would fall hella hard though, and that’s never a good thing where Ollie is concerned.
The thing is where is Ollie’s head at? We know Felicity has it bad for him, she’s been head over heels since Season 1 really. Ollie though…idk, it’s really hard to gauge him.
I think he’s in that uncomfortable position where she’s a really really good friend…that he happens to be attracted to, but doesn’t want to cross that line because he knows that it’s not going to end well.
But then you also have to bring in the secret identity thing into play and then you have people making the connections that Vertigo did…So he’s probably trying his absolute best not to let nature take its course. Lord knows Felicity probably goes through 3 pairs of panties every ten minutes just being near him lol.

Not really. At most he said “I don’t want to date people I actually like” because they could get hurt…physically. Which tends to be true actually. One got shotguned, one tried to kill him and we know what happened to Sara. Laurel has gotten hurt, but at least with her it wasn’t on account of dating him but…well, being Laurel.
Add to the fact that Felicity seems to LOVE putting herself in situations where she’ll get kidnapped and/or shot at and…well, it’s understandable. But no, he hasn’t turned her down for the sake of friendzoning her.

I have plenty of experience. What you seem to be ignorant of is that this is a different circumstance. This isn’t Degrassi. People are getting shot and killed over their connections to the wrong people and Felicity isn’t Diggle. She doesn’t have Special Ops experience to defend herself when people come running over that crap.
She got in no physical danger when she was just a techie at Queen Consolidated. Then when she joined Team Arrow, she got a bit of danger. A bit more when she became Oliver’s personal assistant. If she starts dating him the fucking floodgates will open. You notice how Ollie’s last two actual girlfriends could defend themselves in a fight? She cannot.
