It definitely showed why he wanted to level the whole place. More than being pissed at the killers, he’s pissed at the entire Glades for not helping.
yeah but i got that smallville mindset. this show has once again erased that notion.
finally got around to watch the finale. WOW. Peace out Tommy.
Barrowman was an acting MACHINE in this episode. And no, he ain’t dead yet lol. Until you see them in body bags or pieces, they ain’t dead.
I was hoping for Roy to at least meet Ollie again.
Curious to see what happens to mommy though.
I wanted to make Felicity feel all safe and comfy when she was crying to Ollie
lol Captain Jack is hard to kill.
I don’t see why a GL can’t be realistic…it isn’t like "super powers"instantly means we gotta turn shit to silver age camp fest. The arrow world could easily fit in the DCU I think, so long as the writes get it through their heads that super powers don’t always gotta translate to over-the-top stupidity.
I’ve never gotten into Green Lantern because his powers always translated to over-the-top stupidity
I would say he’s over powered but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to tell a good, mature story with him that can convey quality human drama. The realism comes from the portrayal so if the thinking going into the portrayal is that"well he’s just some over-the-top comic book character for kids"then that’s exactly what he will turn into. I think alan moore said it best when it comes to portraying godly characters…can’t find the exact quote but it was something along the lines of"them still going through the emotions and problems we all go through"so it’s far from impossible to have realism with characters like GL or supes.
the best most human potrayals of the green lantern…mostly dont involve asshole hal.
There’s a difference between having the character be realistic and the abilities be realistic. You can make a GL be very down to earth, full of character depth, etc. But his powers come from a ring that lets anything in his imagination come to life. His powers is what’s ridiculous when Ollie shoots arrows and even then is having somewhat of a difficult time. You can weaken his abilities. Make him unable to fly, etc. But a lot of fans would get pissed if you take away too much of any super hero’s ability.
He has been well represented plenty of times though…not to mention that it isn’t like the writers couldn’t tweak him a bit to fit into the atmosphere of the show.
I don’t think they would need to nerf him. They could just simply have hal appear without any GL related plot that wouldn’t even require him to use his ring outside some implied moments.
You’re right, which is kind of what I mean by “nod.” Showing Hal or any GL without using their powers for 1 episode pretty much means nod in my opinion. Or else, he can be replaced by a no-name character but they use him specifically in reference to GL.
Earthquake machine #1 on a timer… Earthquake machine #2 on a remote?
Olly- "WHERE IS IT"
Myrlin- "Somewhere close"
KAPOW 3 way fight scene of awesomeness!!! Then Olly stabs himself and Myrlin (Awww poor Olly) and Myrlin needs a distraction “CONTINGINCY PLAN BITCHES” AKA I’m going to detonate the other one with a remote so you run away from me to save people and I’m gonna pretend to be dead!
In the words of the presumed dead Myrlin “HORRAY! I LIVE!”
Summer Glau will guest star in Arrow next season - http://www.eonline.com/news/437670/arrow-season-2-scoop-summer-glau-to-guest-star-as-classic-dc-comics-character?utm_source=eonline&utm_medium=rssfeeds&utm_campaign=imdb_topstories
Hoping Arrow doesn’t get canned lol
Fuck…
Ollie NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Ummmm… Pretty sure the show is safe yall…
Guest starring is fine. It’s when she’s a main cast member that the show fails.
you know who agrees with this?
FUCKING ME:
Hopefully this can counteract “The Summer Effect”.
Summer playing a villain? This could be interesting.
Nice trailer. Arrow: Year Two, let’s go!
