Arrow: The Green Arrow TV show

If DC really cared about “different actors confusing audiences” then they would cancel the entire Arrowverse immediately to have everyone focus solely on the movie properties. They’re the kings of half-measures. They’ll let Ollie and Barry keep their shows, but they’ll for damn sure strip everything else that may even slightly pertain to the movies.

They can’t keep doing this shit because it’s harming both sides. The TV shows continually have to write around DC’s random whims and it’s fucking with their stories and character progression (Arrow is DEFINITELY poorer without Waller and the Suicide Squad) and the Movies are going to suffer from continual backlash and negative PR if they keep this up.

Either they need to back off and let the TV Shows do what they want and need to do with the properties they’ve been given, or they need to cancel them outright.

Eh, theyre using deadshot, amanda waller, and thats it. I get what youre saying, but eh. Arrow sucks anyways, and its suicide squad arc wasnt ever going to be a main point of the show anyways. Them dying in the arrow is a pretty non factor.

The death of suicide squad members, and amanda waller has been the least of the arrows isues.

LOL how?

Because removing solid storylines only hurts, simple as that. Suicide Squad gave Diggle an outlet beyond the team. It let the story branch out into other parts of the verse rather than being self-contained in the same story arc all the time. It would’ve also taken a lot of stress off of the Flashbacks. Instead of stretching them out and having them be outright garbage they could’ve been more concise and potentially used the Suicide Squad for other self-contained stories.

All three shows this season basically collapsed due to writing completely around the same story arc and not branching out nearly enough into other ventures. LoT at least has an excuse that…well, a singular mission was the whole point of the show. Flash went on for 5-8 episodes too long this season and Arrow just dragged uncomfortably and completely without anything to distract from the HIVE plot.

This doesn’t take blame away from the writers though, they knew from the start of this season that they wouldn’t have the Suicide Squad to fall back on so they should’ve considered other options and they utterly failed at that.

We’ll never know if the Suicide Squad arc was gonna lead to anything major as the producers were forced to give it the axe. What we did get the Squad factored heavily into Diggle’s subplot. The whole thing with HIVE probably would have played out differently.

Word

So.

What I’m getting from this thread, is that Season 4 sucked so bad, that Diggle decided to “leave home, and become a stereotyped black man?”

Guile wept.

From the finale it appears that Diggle relisted into the military. He had his uniform on when saying his goodbyes to his family.

Yeah, i dont know why people have been shitting on diggle. I havent addressed it, but its clear he reinstated into the military to get back some direction, unity, and oddly enough calmness in his life. Theyre a family of warriors. When he killed his brother, she said you did what you had to do, or some shit like that but colder.

She knows whatsup, and it is what it is.

Dig was the most interesting character for the first two seasons, served as a moral center, tried give such to the others, and was generally speaking, arguably the only actual good guy on the whole damned show.

So given the way the show had been going, it really would not surprise me if they wrote him out.

also diggles storyline oddly ended the exact same way as nazi cops storyline in banshee…is this a weird trope i dont know about? cause it was exactly the same shit.

good brother with a rough side is pushed to the edge by evil brother. knows the system wont stop him from coming after his family and friends. feels ne needs to kill his unarmed brother cause of threats.

LOL, DC sounds like Kevin Dunn or whatever from WWE

Saw the season 4 finale a few nights ago, I think there’s a word to describe how awful it was but it hasn’t been invented yet. And Felicity’s “You thought I was leaving? Not a chance” line seemed very meta. She may as well have turned to the camera to flip the audience off because it feels like that was the intent of that line.

Arrow is hot trash and I won’t be coming back for season 5.

I heard that before… (in the wrestling thread)

I just finished the season 4 tonight.

SPOILERS

I cant believe it went down so much from the awesomeness of season 2 when I watched like six episodes in a row like a drug addict.

Random thoughts good and bad.

-The fighting seems lame now. Generic close up punches and little archery.

-I didnt give a shit about the flashbacks. TBh, season 3 kinda started the decline , but this season I could care less about Ukraine bitch, southern guy, and evil black military guy.

–Most of the characters have jobs/lives outside of the superheroics.Yet, it seems the writers forgot that.
Laurel is a DA, yet except for 1-2 episodes, we barely see her try cases.
There should be a mix of real life job stuff to balance it out.

–Ollie not killing Malcolm. John Barrowman is awesome, but its feeling like Magneto from Fox xmen. Hes a villain, then hes a reluctant ally. rinse and repeat.

–I like Curtis, and would have liked him to replace Felciity as tech/hacker guy.

–I liked John Constantine but was depressed that it was just to heal Sarah and then hes gone.

–I like Felicitys dad as a villain and conflicted father.

Neal McDonough as Dark was good. We needed an expressive, quirky villain after the dull Ras al ghul last season.

My biggest problem is Felicity this season.
They resolved her paralysis too quickly. Granted this is superhero show, but could have waited till the end of the season.

They made her too full of herself and giving back Ollies ring because of the kid scenario. Then, she claims that its too hard to be part of the team–for all of 1-episodes.
When she was moving stuff out of the apt yet making jokes, I was hoping someone would throw her out the window.
Its been 4 seasons, and she acts like Ollie not telling her something to keep her safe is something new.

However, shes working with them and going on magic mission with Ollie. Make up your mind bitch.
They should have killed her or had her leave.
Characters like Thea and John leave but shes just dandy to be with Oliver like nothing happened.

Can Thea have a love interest that’s interesting and not just “hot”?

John and Andy. I wish they had shown more flashbacks with them rather than ollie.
I didnt feel much when they revealed him to be working for Dark. Even after “saving” Lyla from the attack from Joyner, I had a feeling that he would be a villain.
the actor didnt realy give off much of a threatening vibe imo.

The final battle was underwhelming and reminded me to TDKrises.

–Nice to see a small town die. as long as it isnt our city right?

Would have been great if Ollie v Dark was actually Constantine v Dark with Ollie assist.

I don’t how many you still care but Wild Dog and Vigilante been confirmed for the next season.

I figured it would happen eventually…

As who? Stardust?

prob a random villain of the week.
