This is probably more of Ra’s plan, I can’t imagine he would not inflict a fatal wound by accident. Maybe he didn’t mean to kill Ollie? Maybe he wanted to get him close to death and see where he goes from there? He probably didn’t expect and/or want his man’s to help him, but I wouldn’t be surprised if were hit with the “If i wanted him death… I would have cut off his head” line later in the show.

Other than dudes last words of he basically brought his wife there to bring him back to “life”, which could mean a couple things (likely not in the literal way some people may have took it, as if she just rose ollie from the dead), and there was no indication that ollie was actually dead when he brought him to the house. That would actually be even more ridiculous, because if you have a magic potion to bring someone back from death, there would be no need to stich their wounds (she told him not to move, or it would rip the stiches), as i assume whatever this magical potion is that can bring someone back from the dead, must have pretty boss ass regenerative properties, and not some run of the mill juice that will help you heal a 3rd degree burn faster.
The herbs used earlier on in the seasons didnt seem very magical at all, just very thorough in helping the body heal and deal with pain better. You couldnt get shot in the heart and have someone drip those herbs into your mouth, and then bam you felt 100 percent the next day. Hell you couldnt even take 5 arrows to the body, have those herbs used on you, and feel perfect the next day. lol
Anyways, yeah, working in a lazarus pit, or even a lazarus drink that they could easily turn into an arc to finish the season, would have made much more sense. Ending with another showdown between arrow and ra over the lazarus drink. They still couldve used a bunch of scientific mumbo jumbo to explain a lazarus drink. Maybe she stole it recently from ras, along with how to make it, which could setup another showdown with the arrow and ras by the end of the season over getting that formula back. Eh

Things are going to be awkward for this final half of the season. No one can trust each other outside of Roy and Diggle.

I think it’s more they wanted to give something Roy may excel at better than Ollie, which is quickness/agility. We’ve seen Roy do random somersaults and stuff when he’s fighting. Just to give him a characteristic of his own and not a carbon copy of Ollie.

Uh…actually, that’s exactly why it didn’t raise any. Diggle coming along obviously goes without saying so no one was surprised. But Ollie bringing Roy along is easily excused by bringing all the ammunition he could to bring Thea back home. Now if the Arrow was spotted in Corto Maltese…that might’ve been a bigger issue.
And Mia Dearden figured it out because Comic Ollie was an idiot when it came to his identity. You know it’s bad when your signature beard being that recognizable is a plot point. A trained monkey could realize Ollie was GA just based on that.
The Arrow and Ollie in this universe have no such distinguishing feature which means all Thea would have to go on is everything everyone else has to go on. Which means she would also have to explain away The Arrow showing up even when Ollie is present elsewhere, the preconception that Ollie cannot handle the physical stress due to his time on the Island and her own denials due to being his sister. Ollie has covered his tracks decently well. The only way Mia would find out he’s the Arrow is if she actually put effort into figuring it out again, which she has no desire to.
