Rail gun is good for sure, though. Might as well get used to it, a few good rail gun shots makes some fights go by really fast. Things die fast in 4A, lots of hilarious 1-shot kill opportunities against some Arms Forts.
Still can’t get over how easy Attack on Arteria Carpals is if you have Kojima arms o_O
I’m not a huge fan of relation missiles but if you’re using missiles, they’re not a bad option. Mo’ missiles isn’t a bad thing. I like the flare shoulder weapon for lulz against people, but my usual shoulder weapon of choice is the AS missiles so I have a one button fire-and-forget weapon when I’m trying to move around and my rifles are my current weapon. 063ANAR is too good to pass up. The shoulder AS missiles aren’t terribly good though, oh well.
Should work on tweaking a perma-OB AC one of these days, my almost-perma-flight speedster is fun so I figure perma-flight + perma-OB = perma-lulz
Defend Arteria Carpals was giving me trouble cus I was using grenades/laser rifle. D: Things turned out much better once I switched my weapons for some higher velocity ones.
Defend is harder than Attack, though truth be told the Attack one is only easy because you know exactly what your opponent is going to do when he shows up and he never deviates from that so it’s easy to 1-shot kill him before he even starts fighting.
I mostly just flew around spraying machine gun arms until they died in Defend Arteria Carpals, probably would have been easier if I had a beefier weapon. Perma-flight + machine gun arms is the easy way to get through most of the later missions involving enemy NEXTs, actually… other than the Arteria missions, though that’s only because you can abuse enemy AI pretty badly in those.
It’s been a while since I played, but I remember having to press some of the playstation buttons (circle, X, etc.), and having to use the right analog stick for movement, and considering I only have 1 thumb on my right hand, it was annoying whenever I had to press one of the buttons.
063ANAR assault rifle is too good. Crazy accurate weapon. The 063 head, arms, and FCS are actually all pretty good for making hyper-accurate rifle builds. You wouldn’t use the body or legs though, not light or heavy enough.
I think my current setup for most single player missions is:
Head: Lahire
Core: Lahire
Arms: Lahire
Legs: Lahire
FCS: INBLUE
Generator: Sobrero
Main booster: Aaliyah/M
Back booster: Latona
Side booster: Holofernes
Overed booster: KB-Judith
Double 063ANAR or Motorcobras (or double blades for specific missions), back/shoulders change as I see fit (though for most missions I just use the back and shoulder boosters lol).
Could optimize this a few ways (063 head/arms/FCS to make the 063ANARs even better, possibly Sobrero legs to lessen weight though their load capacity sucks, Argyros/G is probably the best generator in the game but I like to keep weight down and Sobrero is the only other option for max output; could also maybe go with an AA Overed Booster) but it’s a pretty solid setup that allows for almost permanent flight (energy drains so slowly that it’s practically permanent) with really good forward and side boosting; backwards movement isn’t too hot but you don’t backpedal a lot with non-sniper builds anyhow so it’s best to just take a light, low EN cost back booster (Latona). Could swap to all Aaliyah boosters to maximize speed but it’s not really necessary and it’s a killer in terms of EN drain; Holofernes are good enough for side boosters.
Thinking of using Polaris main booster for true permaflight (ie. even regen EN while flying in OB) but Aaliyah is a better booster for mobility and it’s not that big a drain once you spec things out well.
But yeah, zipping along at ~650 km/h normal ground speed and boosting up to 1600 km/h is fun times.
Yeah that’s control set A, switch to B and then you have triggers as boost, bumpers as left and right weapons, and face buttons as weapon switch. works WAY WAY better, and in that config it’s actually good.
I dunno I’ve seen people saying it’s not that big a deal. the core+arms at least are good and depending on your build you can sacrifice the shoulder points.
Well I don’t even have it yet and I’m also not good at the game so meh lol
They’re okay and I don’t mind losing the shoulders, it’s just there are better ones. Though you can make a pretty decent middleweight out of some of the parts. The weapons aren’t too bad (the missiles are broken in reg1.00 lol)
But if you’re going for looks, White Glint core can’t be beat.
Wow Defend Arteria Cranium is fucking bullshit. How the fuck am I supposed to win when I can’t fucking do anything cus there’s five million things to run into, making it impossible to avoid getting two shot from that blade using asshole. -_- I already died about eight times trying to do this mission.
Blade guided AA is kinda making the tiers. Not having a blade makes you lose out on this option. It also means you’re much less likely to fuck up bringin’ it to 'em.
Who the fuck plays this online? This shit is empty as hell.
There’s 5 million things you can run into… and there’s about 2 things the CPU can’t navigate around. If you do it right, you pop out of the hallway, shoot at the blader, then back up into the hallway and he can’t actually follow you in sometimes. This is hard to pull off sometimes, so the other option is fly to the area they come from- for some reason they get retarded and can’t bring themselves to fly back over the ramp and get stuck, then you shoot them to death.
Fighting them straight up is hella hard, you pretty much want to spam missiles/railguns as they make their entrance and hope enough of them hit to put down the blader before you get carved up- once the blader is down it’s ez mode.
Yeah, the blader is the worst part about that mission. He’s fast and since there isn’t a lot of room to manuever he can cut you up like a Marvel player that just lost a big money match. I managed to beat it by luck somehow; partner somehow killed the other NEXT within the first ten seconds of the fight. o_0
I see you guys mentioning the 063ANAR a lot. When the hell do you get it?
shrug you complete some mission and it unlocks or something, or maybe it’s from the arena? I don’t remember lol. Just keep checking the shop and/or your parts list and see if it shows up.
Beat Stasis, didn’t unlock it. Guess it’s unlocked through missions. Also, after I beat Stasis why does it still only list 29/30 collared matches completed?
If you beat a NEXT pilot in the story before you beat them in the Order matches, you can’t fight them in the Order match. Just go into free play and play against the one you missed (people miss White Glint a lot since he’s up pretty early in the story but pretty late in Order matches, for example). But yeah, just check which one isn’t checked off and fight 'em.
