Dana: I would have thought that sfxt would be right up your alley. The type of game you play with Duds in SF4 is similar to how sfxt is played. Lots of walking/spacing/footsies etc. Im sad to hear that you dont even play AE anymore. =(
Jeo, honestly. That part was ok. We were discussing. It was other stuff, from others. Actually, I don’t think you really said anything, other than our convo. Heated convo, but fun haha.
I’m weird. I still like SF4. If the only place to play SF4 was Tucson, i’d think about moving there. Maybe for like half a second, but the thought would creep in.
In other news, I still suck.
@ Lina & Eta: keep on keepin’ on. You guys have gotten alot better since i played you last. Lots of good improvement. And, no, I wasn’t at all bored playing you guys, it’s all good practice.
You really think it was a good turnout? At least half the scene wasn’t there.
Better then when I first counted lol and that’s what counts. I thought there would be 8, there was 11.
Lol Zaine… thats not weird. I still enjoy AE as well, but i just have more fun playing sfxt. =)
Hey I’m beginning to fall back in love with SF since SFxT came out. Probably because I rediscovered just how much I love Rose.
I still need a ride to Evo. Does anybody have open seats? I bathe i’m generally a nice dude and I will pay cash monies as well!
Yes, if anybody can help MMP with a ride hook him up! he already has room its just my car is full
I still play AE and I’ll probably always love it, I just don’t put time into training mode anymore so I don’t feel up to playing it in tournaments. I played a good set against David when he was up at Haz’s this weekend. The metagame of it just feels pretty figured out now though so I find myself a lot more enamored with how Marvel’s is taking shape. I love to theory craft and Marvel lets me do that endlessly.
I didn’t recognize him until seeing the stream archive, but Travis the Xiba player is actually an old college buddy of mine. He’s from Avondale, right? Met him through an old roommate. He used to wreck my shit in Melee, haha. It’s been like 5 years, the dude slimmed down. Hopefully he’ll come to the next Hazbat so I can say hi.
Reece, missed your post somehow. It was little jabs prior to that that got me riled up. Haha I laughed at the way you said it. Hella stern “NO”.
Who’s going to Armando’s tomorrow that lives on 43rd ave area I’m really tryin ta go.

Also, where tagabot at, we wanna recruit him for fuckin’ up Arnul in SFxT. PM us.
That’s funny, because Kinetic Clash was in my graduating class in high school; homeroom, even! I wasn’t expecting Ivy beefiness from him, that was nuts.
Hey, is there a VF5 scene at all out here? Never played it before but I saw that $15k EVO announcement made the other day and picked up the game at Gamestop for $7. At that price, it should make it into Poverty Tournaments at least.
11 is better than 8, I’ll give you that. But my idea of a good turnout for a SC5 local is 20+, which we’re more than capable of doing.
Not sure where he lives exactly, but I know he’s west side. He’s Kinetic Clash’s step-brother. He should be back on May 12.
There’s no VF scene out here. I think we have 3 players… none of which are currently active. I don’t really expect that to change much when VF5: FT hits. If my 360 worked I’d offer to play you.
As far as the Evo tournament goes, I’m actually not a fan of what Sega is doing. Given the large number of Japanese players that will be at Evo, plus the cabinet at Southtown Arcade, no one else has a chance at that money since the game won’t even be out yet (as far as I know). The Evo tournament gives me zero incentive to start playing VF5 again, and actually makes me a little upset at Sega.
It’d be one thing if VF5: FT was pretty close to VF5 ver. C, but it’s not. The copy you picked up at GameStop (assuming you got the 360 version… which is different than the PS3 version) is not going to help you much when you try to play FT. It’d be worse than playing Vanilla SF4 in preparation for an AE 2012 tournament.
I actually agree. Considering the massive time it already takes to learn vf, its impossible to win. Vf5FS and vanilla vf5 are completely different games. Hell you’re probably better off buying vf4 evo for ps2, since that game actually teaches you the entire engine in depth, and a good amount of it will carry over to vf5 series
I guess I appreciate the fact that Sega is atleast Doing something to promote the game, for once. And I hope FS gets some footing in the us scene, but I won’t hold my breath. The game is extremely late to the party. Maybe we’ll get lucky and a scene picks up, I’d love to play vf again.
I dunno, I guess I saw the game it was cheap and I bought it. #esportsDreamShattered – However, I didn’t now how different VF5 would be than FS but I figured it cost less than 1 month of Gamefly or a beer at a sporting event and it might be a little bit of fun.
I’m not that big of a fan of SC5 (not really interested in weapons) and I didn’t like the way Tekken went with all the wall combos so I figured it’d be a fun distraction in the 3d realm. I actually find the UFC games pretty interesting but the lack of life bars and random knockouts would never make it a viable competitive game. Anything else out there in the 3d world that’s worth checking out?
Vf is the shit bro. I’ll be trying to pick it up, I just hope online is good. To me, there’s just nothing more satisfying when you win a game of vf or pull off a hard as nails to execute move on a real opponent. The game just feels satisfying
