I’ll probably be heading up to PHX this saturday for the SCV ranbat. If anyone from tucson wants to go, and is willing to split gas, PM me your number and we’ll work it out.
I would totally go to that tournament just because you guys are giving love to us (rare) Fightpad players.
But… Do you have to be 21 to get into the place? >____>
Nope, only have to be 18 to be on the side that we are on. There is another side that is 21 and over and serves alcohol, which will be open for those who wish to drink, but they are separate.
The latest patch allows for quick selection in the character select screen using a dial system, in the same menu as the default gems. If we know our gem loadout, does that fall under “default gems?” Situations like this (where gems are not banned) are what the dial system in the latest patch is intended for.
I’m asking not to be antagonistic or to try to bend the rules, but to see if we can get the gem standard to be consistent here. “Default gems” isn’t specific enough for rulesets for people to not try to bend. I also think that allowing only the two default loadouts for each character undermines the positives of allowing the gem system in the first place.
For future reference, the official term for the autoblock, autotech, and easy input gems are “Assist Gems,” while the term for the stat increase gems are “Boost Gems.” So if the dial system is in fact allowed, a solid rule would be “Assist gems are banned,” which would allow the normal competitive gems but ban the ones that the competitive community frowns on, the auto-tech, block, and input gems.
Edit: Also, the dial system makes it easy to remove all gems from a loadout on a fresh save file, should you decide to go that route and ban all gems when running tournaments.
