Muji: You are right about my analogy it was wrong in this situation. I just hate that leaders of our community allow themselves to be baited like that. Every time that Bryan posts right after you know that scott or whoever disagrees is going to post no matter what even though they know it’s like talking to a wall he’s not going to say “you know what scott you are right, lets just be friends.” it is just not going to happen so it just makes it worse when people keep paying attention to him and it causes all this drama.
As far as having all these ranbats at Hazams I think it’s awesome to have so many games in one roof so we can all see what other games have to offer like muji said and props to Hazam for allowing us all into his home to make a ruckus for an entire day. With that being said if this keeps getting bigger then there is no way that we can keep having them at a non neutral venue for much longer especially if people keep butting heads like they have lately. Although, no one not even myself has come up with a better alternative as of yet.
I’m done with that topic, i’ve made my point. and as far as im concerned, its still very relevant cause its STILL hurting our community. We could have been playing all of capcoms newest fighters months early, if that isnt a benefit for our community, then i apologize.

I feel bad that I may have started all this and I did get pretty heated in earlier posts, but we really have lost focus here and are just beating dead horses. And honestly, the people defending him are contributing to it just as much as the people attacking him. I’m gonna go back to my main points as clear as possible:
There’s a series of tournaments starting on Saturday that could result in a real fun time for everyone and multiple communities, along with the benefits of cross pollination.
Several members of each community dislike each other or have felt wronged in the past. It’d be nice if this was rectified, but that’s nobody’s business but the parties concerned. Still,
We shouldn’t let the problems of a few people permeate and pollute the rest of the scene. I’ll say it again, I have no issues with Bryan and I’ve always had a good time at the events he’s been a part of. I do feel that the newcomers are getting shafted and that there’s a lack of communication/misunderstanding between the scenes. Our chance to rectify that is this Saturday.
As an aside, Armando’s done quite a bit for the scene in being cool enough to open up his home to the Tempe folks every week, which has really helped many of us level up in Marvel. I feel bad that folks are getting a different impression of him.
How many times does somebody have a bad day and exaggerate it when speaking about it to friends? Sure maybe you deserved some of the heat at work or maybe that guy who flipped you off wasn’t completely wrong but let’s face it when your telling somebody about what happens it is usually just your side. Just because there is not some grand benefit to lying doesn’t mean the details aren’t completely blown out of proportion. This just goes both ways.
Also, I find it extremely interesting how you channel the SRK crowd to the 8-way run community extremely ironic how you complain all the time about us pushing you out with your SC yet I go to the forums over there and see posts that spin us negatively each and every time.

That’s all im writing regarding this matter, I already stated if it was really an issue and this supposed event was holding a person from participating I would definitely talk to them in private so we can talk it out and move past it.

Abe and I just finished a few matches online. We played one guy using this setup. I was using Rufus (easy to open people up with him) He didn’t have a full bar but it auto blocked 3 times for him before my fourth attack with Rufus hit. I remember thinking, damn if I didn’t have Rufus right now there was no way I would have opened this guy up in the time allotted to finish the match (about 25 seconds). Shit is stupid on so many levels.
Not sure if I can host tomorrow, 10 hour shifts started back up and I drew the short stick… may have to work 11-9pm wednesday… if I get out early I will definitely post up ASAP. If people want to come over after 9pm that would be legit too but its all definitely a wait-and-see till the last moment!
I never once stated that I am not free of guilt in relation to my feeling about the FGC. It being a community after all we are all in some part responsible for its outcome. I’m merely pointing out what I thought to be very obvious. I would never call you or anyone else out on their shit without at least taking a look in the mirror first. What I believe to be entertainment value may very well be a barrier of entry and I take full ownership of that, however, I don’t consider myself, nor do I really think anyone else would consider me a foundation staple for the community here. Simply put, I don’t play any of the new games, so there is not much value-added there. If anyone has looked up to me to learn fundamentals, then that may have been a mistake, because I am definitely not a subject matter expert of any game that came out after like 1999. Blah Blah Blah some shit none it matters much anyway, just take away that I’m guilty too.

It’s always helped in the FGC. I’ve been a part of 4 different regional communities in 4 different areas of the US and can say that it indeed helps, but it is not a requirement by any means. So what I was saying was not me portraying you in a negative light (sorry I should have used a better example) but trying to highlight the fact that we’re kind of a cliquish group… a lot of the members here have known each other for a long time and have some bonds that do in fact extend outside of fighting games… coming in with little to no skill or knowledge can be tough without having a sponsor (not Brazzers, but a community member), and not that many people are willing to stick their hand out and say “hey welcome to the community, let me show you around… thats Tristan, his internal computer was the only thing affected by the Y2K bug and he never got into any of the newer games, he’s a loud mouth and a hater, but his bark is worse than his bite… thats Muji, he’s pretty mild-mannered but will blow you the fuck up with ZERO… so if you wanna learn shit, he’s the go-to guy… etc etc.”
So to answer your question: no I wasn’t serious, you just mistook what I wrote.
hya, I’m wondering if I could find a read here on shoyuken to the hazmat tournament this saturday. I live in the south tempe/ chandler area and can make my way around to meet up if needed, I also can dish out’ some gas money. I’m interested in playing UMVC3 and SFxT, I don’t have a partner though atm but I play Hwoarang/Jin if someone is interested in pairing up with me.
I may show up on Saturday, I really don’t know at this point. I’m not one to support events that I have issue with (which I still do in this case), but I am big on supporting the SC5 scene in AZ.
Even if I make it out, half of our scene can’t make it at the current time, and I can’t make it either date in May (although hopefully the Euphoria conflict is resolved).

I’m not following you. The only time I recall asking SRK people to go to 8WR is to announce/update on tournaments featuring SC. The only time I have anything negative to say about SRK people on 8WR is when you guys wrong us during these events. If you stop wronging us, I’m sure you wouldn’t see any negative posts from me. Alternatively, if you check 8WR when there isn’t an issue with an SRK-based tournament, you won’t see me speaking negatively about SRK people. I don’t just randomly bring you people up…

Concerning KI on XBand, it wasn’t exactly the best way to play the game. For once I was actually taking a few joking stabs at you guys in the spirit of fun. Thanks for killing that. But if you want to get down to it, I recall going back and forth with everyone except Dan (Dark Legend at the time).
