Arizona! SFXT is here. Upcoming events. Check first posts

People have been getting some kind of meter for getting hit for ages though.

Huh, didn’t think BlazBlue was so high up there… Although I painfully agree with KOF13 and pretty much the rest of that list.

So what does this mean for SFxT as a whole?
1)Lrn2play properly
2)Fck this Sht, I’m going home
3)Barrel Roll around it

Although it’d be funny to watch a Capcom game fail oh so miserably (to me, anyway)

I’m just curious, is anyone else interested in playing the Persona fighting game? I love the series so I’d totally look forward to learning it competitively.

(inb4 weeaboo)

I’m definitely looking forward to playing it, but I’m not holding my breath for it to get any long-term traction or anything (nor am I sure that I’d want to play it long-term even if it did).

I don’t think a comeback mechanic is what makes fighting games hype. MVC2 is so hype to watch, as is sf2 (tense+hype). As far as this talk goes on about sfxt vs. kof 13. I just started playing kof13 2 days ago, and so far i am enjoying it more than sfxt. Maybe its because i play steve in sfxt and he has alot of issues. Maybe its the weird crossups that happen, maybe its jump in attacks going through bodies. I’m not so sure. But when i play kof, it just feels right. The combos feel smooth, and it just feels way more polished of a game then sfxt is. I’m going to try to play both, but with me already play SC V, sfxt might be put off to the side lines.

Also, i could care less if there is a big scene for it or not. Look at MK9. Theres a super small scene here, yet we still have multiple players that place high at majors. I say if you don’t play a game u like because theres “no scene” then your only doing yourself a disservice, and your being just as lazy as those “top players” that wait for mid level players to figure everything out.

Damn, aaron leveling the fuck up. Save some of them rare candies for the rest of the world.

Yay, I made it to 6th Lord in UMvC3 online tonight. Movin’ on up!

buncha scurb cats in here. Play more KoF13.

4th Lord status says 'sup.
Do you wanna do some online matches sometime?

For those still involved with UMVC3… thoughts on a team of Deadpool (quickwork?)/Nova (centurion rush?)/Dormammu (dark hole?)

Using this as a keep away team primarily just to try it out, but won’t be able to really play for a week or 2 to test it out. Just wanted some thoughts before hand to see what I am getting into.

I’d assume pillar would be better for dormammu assist for keep away, but dark hole seems like the staple assist for him.

On a different note, I just wanted to say, this Raccoon is my boy.

I was the new guy once, and I got passed around like the loosie-goosie town whore, but don’t let that discourage you. It takes a firm nutsack to go into an environment when you know you’re gonna getcha ass whooped, but you will improve exponentially by exposing yourself to getting exposed. Not only that, but the better players in the PHX scene and the Tucson scene will help you out, you just gotta seek them out, introduce yourself, and ear-rape them with questions. You can do it! Just start attending gatherings if and when you can, discard reality, make the impossible possible and watch your talents pierce the heavens  (yeah that reference was for you Muji hahaha)

I agree with Scott tho, even the pro’s still suck at SFxT to some extent, as evidenced by the mega-ass raping that Infiltration put on at NCR. Very few people alpha countered, hell, even the commentator that wasn’t Seth Killian was like “WHOA EX REVERSAL!” when in reality it was a cross counter lol. I doubt even Infiltration has any Pandora combos up his sleeve yet, the game is still very raw and in 3 months, I’m sure the opinion of the game will have changed. Reversals suck ass in this game for the most part, with rolls and alpha counters, it adds a new element of mind game, which I like. I expect the timer issue to be fixed, but consider this:

2 most popular complaints about SFxT:

1). Shitty Timer
2). Gems

They ‘fixed’ the gem issue by just running tournaments with no gems until they figure out a way to make them not fuck tournaments up…why not just run tournaments with the timer set to unlimited time? True, it’s kind’ve like kissing your sister in a way, but its 100% guaranteed to eliminate time outs until a legitimate solution comes along. Just my 2 cents.

Super Skrull sleeps with a Rocket Raccoon pillow

While that may solve one issue, it could easily cause others that would spring from not having a round timer.

Cuz then I could potentially run away for 5+ minutes each round, making it worse. Bad idea.

Wtf, evo sfxt is teams? That’s Fuckin weak. I guess no one wants this game to live

I want to learn Juri. I.wanted to learn her back in Super but I was too focused on Ibuki, plus I was intimidated by the fireball charging. I think I’m ready to give that a shot now, someone teach me how to Juri.

Also, someone teach me how to play Dark Wesker. All I do is teleport randomly while they run away and it never works, haha. I miss Strider :frowning:

show up, people are friendly. you’ll learn a lot just playing people and asking for advice.

Damn it Muji! First Nina, now Juri! The hipster in me can’t allow this, I challenge you to a duel in Shaq Fu!

Well, according to multiple front page commenters (who must now hold the most weight with the SRK staff), 2v2 SFxT is more “hype”. Practically every comment agreeing with the decision throws in how “hype” it is.

/vomit

Haha, so that means no lessons? :frowning:

I’d probably play Juri x Lili anyway. I think Lili is a better character than Nina. Nina is like the Tekken Rolento, super basic and strong but with some glaring weaknesses after the matchup becomes familiar. I still really enjoy playing her though, so if anything I just want a pocket Juri.
