ARFGN: S.W.O.L - SouthWest Online League for SSF4 - Xbox 360

Thanks for signing up! I have you registered, just waiting for a few more to start the next division!

Cool, thanks Panda.

The Rookie Division is now full! If you’ve recently registered, go check the matchmaking page on the ARFGN website to find out who you will be fighting! Good luck and remember to report your results back on the ARFGN website under ‘‘Matchmaking’’

I’ve added a Match Video section to the website! Go to the ‘‘league’’ tab and select ‘‘Match Videos’’ in the drop box! You can also submit videos of your league matches there!

Carbocation SRK (Cody) beats Triox403 (Juri) 2-0

Already submitted it on the website as well.

Nice stuff man. Even though you lost, you’re still going to be #3 in the Pro Division. Come back and take your spot back!
Also, nice quality on the video. What set up do you use for that?

Just a Hauppauge PVR

I need to get me one of those! Been meaning to for awhile, ha

Dang son, how do you upload such high quality vids?

I have one of these. Records up to 1080i@30 FPS, but I usually only record 720p because it does 60 FPS

They are VERY nice. I use mine all the time. I ended up buying another terabyte of space for my computer so I can do more recordings. I’ve uploaded **HOURS AND HOURS **of just random SSF4 stuff to youtube because of it, lol.

I’ve been thinking about getting a Black Magic Intensity Pro card for my computer so I can get that 1080p videos going.

Maybe you can record some league matches from players!

Gamertag: Za1th

Hey I use the same recorder… that thing is amazing!! Also, HAIL to all the Cody players here! Way to represent!

On another note… just some thoughts of confusion from earlier when I was looking at the website…

stuff

Spoiler

I see the problem with that, but the point at the end of the round isn’t really to get to champion status. Rounds are more of a way for me to get results in and get people a certain amount of matches. I actually planned on changing up the system for moving up a little faster but I’ve been so busy. You may not become champion one week but the next it’s possible for you to or even better you’ll work your way into a higher division. The ranking system now is kind of slow but I plan on improving it most likely after the first season. It’s still kinda in beta lol. If you have any suggestions please let me know.

Understandable… I was just curious. Everyone at some point has that competitive nature take over and strives for that #1 spot. I was just confused about how the system would work considering some people would never even get the chance to become “top dog”.

To throw in my two cents, I would probably design it in a way where the season lasts 6-8 rounds and then there’s like a playoff (or as you have it division vs division) type of event. I feel that doing only 3 rounds doesn’t really balance out the standings in each division as they should be. Where if it were 6 to 8 matches for the season, you would really know if you belong in the top of your division or not. This would also balance out your division vs division setup of Div1B #8 vs Div2A #1 (or whatever it is) since the standings would be more “true”. But at the same time I wouldn’t allow someone to go up or down a division unless they won/lost like 2 out-of-division games in a row. However, if someone is just wrecking their division (8-0 type of thing) or performing very poorly (0-8), then I think they deserve the right to move up/down a division.

You could make the full season an 8-week event with the format of 7 matches in your division (one per week) and then 1 match in division vs division (last week). Or maybe 6 matches in division and 2 out of division, I don’t know. It may seem long but, if you really think about it, it’s only 1 match a week. So there’s really not a whole lot asked of the players.

Anyways, just a few thoughts off the top of my head… I do like the idea and what you are doing though! Keep it up!

Yeah, I want to make the seasons longer but if they are longer, it will take longer to leave your decision. Since the top division is the division you want to be in, it would take months to get there. I may end up re-writing the system at some point but I wanted to come up with a decent system quickly to get this off the ground. I’ve got some ideas though. I would make rounds shorter if I was confident that everyone could get their matches done in time. But I don’t think that would happen.

Yeah I get ya… But that’s also where like some type of exception would come in, like someone dominating division B for the season could swap places with someone that is 0-8 in division A… I dunno, regardless, good stuff. Just some thoughts.

i know this is late for a round 1 result but…
zohta 2-0 findmyfarms

lol, yeah it’s kinda late for that match. I didn’t hear from either one of you guys so I had to put you guys down as no shows, but I have you scheduled against ‘‘ekipz’’ in the Saikyo Division. Get in contact with him before Sunday night and get that result in! I was hoping you and FMF would have gotten your match in time because I wanted to record and post it!

Yeah, I totally understand. I’ll hopefully modify the system by the end of this season. Need to see how the Division Championships go first.
