Are you the worst Sakura Player? Vent here

I don’t know how others do it, but whenever I try to mix people up thinking Imma do a tick throw by doing a walk-up tatsu, they always jab me before that even happens, and it’s not like they’re pressing a lot of buttons during my blockstring either. What ends up happening is that I have to resort to doing the tatsu even earlier, but it’s so early they don’t even see a hint that I might walk up and grab them so it never catches them.

So it’s always either too late, or it’s too early. Ugh!
Only took me 3 years to figure out that I have 0 mixups and all I’ve been doing is random ambiguous jump-ins. Well better late than never

Don’t forget empty jump lows! People know to fear j.hp so you’ll catch a lot of them standing up.

Empty jump low is so good, it always amazes me how many people get hit by it.

I’m too afraid of random dp. I have to learn how to condition my opponent which I have not been doing lol

You too? I blame it on bad habits due to playing certain people who let you get away with such nonsense over and over again. I’ve just now started to learn safejumps, but I usually screw them up anyway.

Par for the course: On Saturday I go 2-2 in tournament play, throwing away rounds by dropping easy combos after making good reads. On Monday at casuals I run off 30 straight wins and drop maybe two links all night.

Sorry if this sounds kinda lame. But to be honest, have you guys ever feel that frustration when newly playing Sakura? How do you over come that? How do you train to play Sakura? It’s kind of bugging me lately cz when I played back my match replays. Found out that most of my wins are flukes. Arrghhh!! Even my friend whom I introduced the game to a few months back, is now better than me. though he main sagat, but still I was beaten about 8-0. I seriously don’t know what am I lacking.

says I could vent here. So here I am.

Yeah it was pretty hard to get used to Sakura in the beginning, but the only way to get better is to keep practising. What I did was watch my replays and try to figure out why I lost then note it down somewhere (I use evernote) and use it as a new goal the next time you start a match. If you keep actively doing this, you will slowly get better every time and over time all those small progressions will add up to one big improvement.

Thanks man. I’ll try that. It’s just that it’s been almost a year now since I really play Sakura, and after seeing all those fluke wins, mistakes, judgement errors, links and cancels aren’t connecting, kinda makes you wanna AAARRGHHH!! u know what I mean? lol.

Ah a vent thread.

Vent: (ECT) Lost to a horrible gief in pools, lost to omgitzandre in losers. Dropped too many links to even look like a legitimate sakura player. Thinking of switching how I hold the joystick to not do random otoshi or overhead kick when I mean to do cr.fwd.

shits aggravating.

Omg the random overheads are so annoying sometimes, I’m not sure why, but lately I’ve been doing them way too much and messing up stun combos. What I don’t understand is how it can come out, when I press HP qcb MK+HK -_-

Just got pummeled by Sagat again few mins back. I can’t get in when it comes to Sagat, always got punished. This is really annoying…

Played 50 matches. 0% wins. Who’s the worst now?

Been comin here more often. Pretty demotivated with my performance lately. I practiced almost everyday and I can do those easy bnbs like c.lk-s.lp-s.lp-c.mk-shouoken pretty consistently in training mode. but when it comes to real matchups I just suck hard. I missed here and there.

I dunno what I did wrong here. AARGGHH!!

I’m tired of getting matched vs A and even A+ players, I get obliterated in ways you couldn’t imagine, getting 4 and even 5 or 6 in a row of these is just frustrating as hell. My goal when playing against those is to not let them perfect me, that’ll teach 'em.
(I try just practising footsies and poking vs those guys since I know I won’t be able to land nothing for now)

Been on a loosing streak. managed to get my pp to 300+ from 1.5k. FUCK ME!!

I feel like I do absolutely terrible against Ken regardless of player skill level. Every time I see him pop up as my opponent I’m like YAY, time to lose more PP. :’( What makes Ken THAT hard to deal with still after having a lot of matches against him already? sees Ken picked waves byebye to another 40-50 PP YAY!!..errr.not :frowning:
