Sakura gave me the best results out of all the characters i played and i dont use low tiers. I just click with sakura. Im original a viper/makoto player. I still use viper a lot, I dont let random ppl play my sak in endless, they got to earn the right to.
Good on you man!
I just tend to use Sakura, but first I’ll start off with Ryu to see if its laggy or not… if not I switch in Sakura after that!
I do find it miles easier to win and win moe often with Ryu but still play most games with Sakura cos she’s FUN xD
Rose just suits me the most of anyone really, I like her normals, fireball and she has a wee nice rushdown game, she just outright suits my playstyle more than Sakura which is super defensive.
Really? Seems like its the other way around to me o.O
Roses usually chill back and footsie/fireball and Sakura has to get in… then again that might just be me…
When i fight rose players i just straight up heavy dp on there wake up because I know they just dash.
I just hold up-forward and keep hitting hp against her lol
lol. Sometimes u just feel it that they will dash.
Akuma’s zoning and walk speed is so hard overcome…
Yup, but you can’t blame the Akuma’s for zoning man, once we get them they are screwweeeeddddddd.
His air fireballs have a lot more recovery than you think btw.
Sometimes I’ll focus there air fireball then walk forward a teeny bit and mp DP and it punishes them o_O
i dp right under the air fireball.
Only a scrub would do a fireball from a high point…
A good Akuma would do it as they’re falling so that you can’t DP right under it.
They’d only do it high if they’re like fullscreen or something.
youd be surprised how many akumas do it too high
I can only do her basic tatsu loop combos completely about 10% of the time. I don’t cancel standing lk into DP because it’s too hard for me, I go for EX tatsu instead. Despite the lack of execution and not the best win ratio, she’s the most fun shoto I’ve ever played. (I mained Akuma and Dan at different times before.)
Yeah, she’s much harder to use than the other shotos… mostly because she doesn’t have a go to get out of jail free card that a lot of the characters have (shoryuken)… I mean don’t get me wrong her EX DP is nice but nowhere near as nice as a regular uppercut… not to mention requires 3 bars to be safe and even if you do it and opponent jumps you’ll whiff and be open to massive punish.
Once I started maining Sakura that’s when I realised the importance of training… before when I mained Ryu and Seth I never, ever went in the training room to practice my links… cos I didn’t need to but once I started using Sakura I actually did have to, because its extremely hard to hit them consistently without training… if you have an arcade stick I’ll also recommend you to learn to plink (I can only do HP as of now but its a start and about all you’ll need for Sakura though plinking mk is also useful) as it helps TONSSSSSS.
Cancelling into shoryuken again, isn’t necessary and I was the exact same as you btw.
The more you play the better you get, you’ll learn 1 step at a time don’t worry about it
She is really fun to play with I realised, because when I use characters with instant DP I don’t even feel like I have to make any effort to win…
Honestly if I use Ryu or even Dan instead of Sakura I can win way more often than I do but I enjoy the game wayyyyyy more with Sakura, just seems more like an earned victory IMO.
You improve as yu play, but for tatsu links and stuff like that you should definitely head to training stage for 30 mins or so a day before you head online or whatever.
Helps a ton, trust me.
Do you have XBL and are you from Europe any chance?
If you are we could play some games!
Buffering directionals makes the s.lk xx shou finisher much easier, you don’t want to do s.lk > f d df+p, you want f+sl.k > d df+p. It’s tricky at first for sure, but useful on its own as a punish when someone leaves a 3-4 frame opportunity and you don’t have meter for ex.tatsu. Just practice the cancel by itself for awhile before working it into the tatsu loop.
omg perceived lag switches… How is it that when the other guy is on offense, everything is buttery smooth, but once I get my opening and try to start my offense, the game turns into a fucking slideshow?
Even then though, I still think it’s more likely to all be in my head than that people are ACTUALLY out there making and using lag switches, but fuck* if that isn’t the most annoying reason to drop a combo and lose a match
*hehe “buttfuck”
Yup, that seems to happen quite often actually, but it also happens to my opponents… as soon as someone starts combos/offense it lags, rest of the time it doesn’t…
Fuck Guy. He has such a good rush down
and Fuck Fuerte, he’s in the wrong game
Hmmm… Guy… I’d say the thing about him is that he’s ‘annoying’ to fight so to speak… his weird hit box really weirds me out wen I fight him but his rushdown isn’t ALL that… not saying I haven’t been absolutely raped by good Guy’s before just never been that big of a problem…
Fuerte is my #1 most annoying character to fight as Sakura… the guy is ANNOYING as FUCK.
He can do anything he wants once you’re knocked down… God DAMN IT I hate Fuerte… you don’t even need skill ffs.
HHonestly I have a friend with a 13.5k BP Fuerte… he has ZERO fundamentals… he’s actually so shit at this game, when he uses Ryu he’s basically one of those scrubs that doesn’t know what he’s doing but because he mains Fuerte he basically does hit and run. Get life lead and run. Basically all he does… then he whines he gets hatemail. Wonder why (!)
SF4 online is the biggest piece of shit I’ve ever played. I was an online warrior for a bit, but after playing in an offline scene I don’t understand how people get better through that.
