The funny thing is that even if you beat a characters story, challenge mode, easy-normal-hard-extreme survival modes you still don’t even get close to LV 50 after that. IIRC it puts you beween LV30-40 so you would still have to grind and level up 10-20 more levels after that.
I think you level up every 10 games so if you wanted the last colour for each character you would have to complete ALL those modes and then play a guesstimate of about 100-200 matches (each character) to LV up to 50.

I completed all of Ken’s modes and never played a single online match and he’s sitting at level 29.

On Topic: My Vega is at level 24. From normal survival, trials, and story mode plus Ranked/Casual matches. It’s gonna be a long way to 50. Color 12 actually looks good though. That will hold me until I get color 15. I don’t plan on dropping the game so I’ll get it. I just wont be able to use it in tournaments

It’s really beyond me why we should have to clear survival for each individual costume, it’s still the same character… Got quite surprised when I bought the story mode costume and it only had the 2 default colors. I guess if you don’t have much content in a game, you really need to drag out the stuff you have.
the real kick in the balls is that you force to do it again, but refuse to pay FM again

Easy seems harder, Normal is easier and Hard still spikes from 25 onwards.
level 50 … for one color? I currently have my Ryu at 33… not looking forward to playing for a month or two just to get Blonde Ryu.
Phew, did it on hard mode with Karin. Cross up j. mk is the god, but they are still really awful people for locking most of the worthwhile stuff (FM and colors) behind this mode.

They could have at least made colors 7-10 look as good as the shop ones… you know, a better reward for completing this piece of shit mode.
Still don’t really care for survival since the shop colors look so much better lol.
Though if I decide I want some alt costume colors, good thing I’m on PC and there’s special things for the master race.

i’m starting to think all this bullshit was done on purpose. at first i was thinking, “how dumb of them to lock simple colors under such grindy, boring conditions. this is probably so i spend my FM on colors instead of characters so i have to buy the season pass.” but now i’m getting the sense that there might not be a huge amount of content that will fill the shop so they are being super stingy with it and want to frustrate you into using zenny. i’m 90% positive you will be able to immediately unlock all colors and costumes using zenny. no grinding and then using FM to unlock a small amount of content, just cut right through the bullshit with zenny and save hours upon hours of frustration. you’ll end up spending way more than you would on a base game and the first set of DLC. i can feel their greediness in my bones.
I’m hoping not, they should have premium colors… I saw a video where some of the colors dataminded were called EX01, EX02 and so on…
