Are colors too much of a grind fest?

Level 50 is really a kick in the balls. That’s going to take a considerable amount of time to grind out.

I’m really disappointed that Capcom didn’t have the normal survival colors unlock with FM. It raises the specter that they might require Zenny (real money) for it. If they even do at all.

Also, really annoyed the special CE Japanese colors didn’t go up. Most of them look considerable better than colors 11-15 for most of the cast.

They still didn’t fix any of this color shit yet?

I’m so unmotivated to even touch this game.

Exploits on the A.I. behavior like:

–Chun Li’s V-skill -> J. MK from the right distance almost never gets anti-aired and leads to good damage.
-Same with her d/f+HK.
-Fireball zoning + anti-air is free vs big body characters.
-Vega almost always eats a crush counter sweep after blocking st. MP.

…stuff like that.

I was watching a survival run with Karin and it looks like her main exploit is doing J. HK from the right distance and baiting characters who automatically anti-air it (like later-level Birdies), but that’s harder to do than any of Chun’s exploits.

so people who want to have all the content unlocked will have to grind for fm and each char to be @level 50?!
haha…yeah…just waiting for the pcunlock everything cheat…

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse.

Eat a sack of baby dicks, Capcom.

Fuck that and them

Everything about this game that isn’t an actual match is a fucking chore. God I wish I could hack this shit game on ps4

PC users are lucky in that regard.

All hail the master race!

bows

All this …for colors
…colors

I spent most of my FM on costumes. Are there any news on other ways of getting FM? I don’t want to waste my time on survival mode with chars I don’t even use just to die on stage 47 or some shit like that.

COLORS!

I want to meet the people who designed Survival and made the decision to lock colors behind it. I want to know what happened to them in their lives that made them this way.

The sad part is, it’s not the difficulty, it’s the tedium that keeps me from hard mode. I can’t bring myself to sit there and do it.
It’s at about stage 25-30 when I start questioning my life choices.

Then the cherry on top…You need to do this for each costume.
I have Default Chun and Battle Costume Chun both with colors 1-6. Now Capcom gave me Cop Chun, which is nice, but when I went to select a color and saw only two…

You can’t even buy them with FM :anguished:

Slightly related

Eh the annoying part is even with the trainer to unlock all the survival colors it still takes a double digit amount of hours to unlock them all. All these decisions make sense honestly if you assume street fighter is a single player game offline and only has multi player via the Internet. Then I can see the reasoning in oh well if you like a character you will unlock stuff the hard way for them and mostly use that character. If you switch you will do it again because you like that new character. However it makes no sense in a game that is commonly played offline in groups. You would never expect your friends to go through the trouble of unlocking all the colors for all of your characters costumes because that is stupid. So for most people when they play at friends houses they are limited to 2 maybe 3 colors for a character which it dumb considering pretty much all fighting games over the last 20 years.

Oh ok. That’s all the stuff I discovered that worked for me during my hard mode completion. Not sure I want to run it again for her story mode costume. It’s such an incredible un-fun time sink.

You know, as I said earlier, I used the trainer to get Charlie’s default costume colors and just thinking about doing it again for his alt, or go get Chun Li’s colors makes me hate myself. THAT’S WITH A FUCKING TRAINER AND I’M DREADING IT.

Thankfully the last four colours of her story outfit are rather ugly. I’m totally fine with using colour number 6 (black blouse, red pants).

The modding forum at sfxt has a hack for 1 win survival BUT I HAVEN’T USED IT OF COURSE

There are those two methods ilitirit mentioned earlier in this thread that can potentially be much quicker if you know what you’re doing. Though to be fair, one of them requires you to be online and will also net you both FM and XP; that level of cheating could get you banned if someone at Capcom notices. The other (modifying the survival files) can probably be done offline, but it isn’t very well explained and since I know next to nothing about modding it turned into a big waste of time for me.

EDIT:

Damn, wish I had known that yesterday when I was trying to figure this out myself.

EDIT 2: Turns out the admin there deleted all posts related to the survival mods. Never mind then.

So i eventually did hard mode with Cammy mostly by spamming heavy dp.

  • vs Ken i mostly used sweep when he was in range
  • i rushed down Bison as much as i could
  • spammed DP on Dhalsim
  • spammed DP on Birdie

Necalli was the last lvl ( 50 ) boss,he didn’t put up much of a fight to my surprise.
